Title For All / 1 Timothy 2
1 “Let supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all” (1-7)
2 "I want men to pray with holy hands raised" (8)
The work of men is to eat the fruits of their labors and toil physically (Genesis 3:17; 2 Thessalonians 3:10) and to raise up holy hands and pray. Men are good at arguing with anger, so I commanded them to be free from anger and quarrels, and instead to raise up holy (separated) hands and pray. Moses raised his hands in prayer, and Aaron and Hur also raised their hands (Exodus 17:11,12). Because men are the head and representative, if a man raises his hands and prays for the Lord's servant, the kingdom of God, and the country, church, and family, the servant of the Lord will gain strength, the kingdom of God will expand, and the country, church, and family will be blessed. The act of raising one's hands is a sign of longing for and relying on the God of heaven and also a sign of surrendering by raising one's hands. Sometimes you can raise your hands and sometimes kneel down in prayer. The movement of the external body is an expression of the inner mind and causes the movement of the inner mind.
3 “I want women to adorn themselves with good deeds” (9-15)
It then presented the appearance of women's existence and the nature of their behavior. Women were originally created equal to men, but their appearance and behavior were different from men. The woman lived as a helper (Gen. 2:18) and had to suffer in childbirth (Gen. 3:16). Paul presented the form of being and the nature of actions that women would take. Women were told not to adorn themselves with braided hair, gold, pearls, or expensive clothing (excessively), but with modest clothing, modesty and fidelity. They were told to show their actions through good deeds and obedience. In fact, the most precious things women can do at home or at church are not to teach, to argue, or to be noisy, but to do good, to obey, and to obey. This is right for women who say they honor God, and by doing so, they build families, churches, and societies. When Eve gave birth, we were all saved.
