Title Forgive, Give / Luke 6:37,38
Content Forgive, give / Luke 6:37,38
Jesus proclaimed the “charter of life” of “the city of God” to the disciples who climbed the mountain in search of Him. One of those words was “Forgive me, give” (Luke 6:37,38). It was said that the ‘principle of life’ of the ‘earth city’ is to take revenge and take away, but the ‘principle of life’ of the ‘city of God’ is to forgive and give. It was said that the principle of life of God the Father, the owner of the city of God, and the principle of life of Jesus, his Son, are forgiveness and giving. The Father gave us the Son, and the Son gave us his life. God has forgiven us in Christ, and Christ has forgiven all our sins by making Himself the sacrifice of the Lamb. And he commanded us to forgive one another and give.
The happiest are those who are forgiven according to the charter of the city of God, and those who forgive. Then you will receive more forgiveness. “Forgive, and ye shall be forgiven” (Luke 6:37). Forgiveness leads to forgiveness and leads to forgiveness. David was a happy man. It was because he was a person who was forgiven and a person who forgives, so he received more forgiveness and lived happily. David confessed: “Blessed are those whose transgressions are forgiven and whose sins are covered” (Psalm 32:1). “They are against me, but I love them and pray” (Psalm 109:4). And praised this. “Praise the Lord, who forgives all your iniquities… ” (Psalm 103:1,3).
We wish all of us to be happy people who receive a lot of forgiveness and forgive others a lot in the new year. You have to be able to get forgiveness from God and you have to learn to forgive others. Then we will be able to live happily with more forgiveness from God and from others. This is the spirit of the city of God, the spirit of Christianity, and the spirit of the Lord's Prayer. “Forgive one another, as God in Christ forgave you” (Ephesians 4:32). “Forgive us our sins as we forgive those who sin against us” (Matthew 6:12).
In the new year, we all want to be happy people who receive many good things from God and give many good things to others. You must know how to receive grace and you must know how to give grace. Then we will receive more grace from God and live happily. This is the spirit of the city of God, the spirit of Christianity, and the teachings of Jesus. “God gave His only begotten Son” (John 3:16). “Give to him who asks of you, and do not refuse from him who wants to borrow from you” (Matthew 5:42). “Freely you received, freely give” (Matthew 10:8). “We must remember that the Lord Jesus Himself said, “It is more blessed to give than to receive” (Acts 20:35).
Today's world has become a terrifying world that criticizes and condemns instead of forgiving, and it has become a ferocious world that takes and takes instead of giving. I hope that you will become happy believers who keep the words of the Lord in your heart today and practice them in the new year. “Forgive, and ye shall be forgiven; give, and it shall be given to you” (Luke 6:37,38).
