Title Freedom! must keep

Contents

Text: John 8:31-34

There are many things that people have to keep in this world, but the Bible says in Proverbs 4:23, “More than anything else, guard your heart.” However, looking at the way people live these days, it is sad to see them wandering around without knowing where they are going, with their hearts loosed and unbroken. One of the representative things in a relaxed mind is the view of the country and national security. Thirty-six years after being deprived of sovereignty by Japan, they lost their freedom, and five years after liberation, they lost their lives wherever they were occupied by North Korean Kim Il-sung's invasion of the South, 1 million people died in the midst of the war, their property was taken away, and, at the very least, the sovereignty of liberal democracy was claimed by communist dictators. It's been over half a century since we almost handed it over to the North Koreans, but I can't help but feel sad and worried as I see North Korea misunderstood as if they were brothers and sisters with us, and lost sight of the Sunshine Policy, the 615 Inter-Korean Joint Statement, the Korean Peninsula Flag, and the plausible rhetoric such as the Korean people. There is not.

Dear brothers and sisters, I want you to realize that brothers with different ideas and different beliefs are inferior to others even if they are of the same ethnicity.

This year is the 120th anniversary of Korean Christian missionary work, the 100th anniversary of the Korean Christian Early Morning Prayer Meeting, and tomorrow is the 60th anniversary of the 815 Liberation of Korea. On the eve of Liberation Day, which is meaningful to Korean Christianity and this nation, if there is one thing we must keep, it is freedom.

Let's confess together.

freedom ! Let's keep it! , yes freedom! must be kept.

Our people collapsed, were taken away and lost because they had no power to protect our sovereignty and freedom from the Japanese invasion. At this time, it was mostly Christians who stood up, shouted for independence, and led this people to the movement for national independence. At that time, the history of Christianity in Korea was only 24 years, and it was only at the level of taking the first step in missions, but it was mature enough not to waste its life in waking up this nation and finding freedom.

In today's text, Jesus spoke about a more precious oil than this. “You will know the truth, and the truth will set you free”

The truth of the Bible speaks of a higher dimension than the world. Reason and truth are different.

Psalm 90 says, “It is a clean way for people to die, a clean way for the water to flow down, and a clean way for the sun to set from east to west.” Most people say that what makes sense is the truth. Mainly, Buddhist teachings form the central ideology of principle, and the central ideology of Christianity is not principle, but truth.

I. What attributes does truth have?

① It has eternity (Exodus 3:14).

There is only one God who is eternal in heaven and in heaven. “I am who I am”

② It has immutability.

James 1:17 - There is neither change nor shadow of turning / Heb 13:8 The same yesterday, today, and forever. Things in the world change at some point. The method changes, the shape changes, the situation changes, the culture changes, the values change, the law (constitution) changes and keeps changing. But the truth does not change.

③ It has vitality.

John 14:6 ; In John 16, “I am the bread of life” 1 Corinthians 15:45 says, “As it is written, The first Adam became a living spirit, so the last Adam (Jesus) became a life-giving spirit.”

. What is the law of the true God?

Psalm 119:142 “Your law is truth: Your law is absolute and supreme (eternity). ① The law that possesses all authority in heaven and on earth (Matthew 28:18). ② The law that conquered the devil's law in the universe (John 16:33)

The law that was outside the universe enters the universe (darkness) and sets us free from the enslavement of the devil's law. Romans 8:2 For the law of life in Jesus Christ has set you free from the law of sin and death.

. To summarize the truth briefly,

(1) Jesus is the truth (John 14:6):

Therefore, if you know Jesus right away, all problems of spirit, soul and body will be solved. Therefore, no one can legally come out of the devil's grasp and come to God the Father except through Jesus.

(2) The Holy Spirit is the truth (John 16:13):

Therefore, when you receive the Holy Spirit, you will abide in the truth. Matthew 12:28 The Holy Spirit casts out demons

(3) The Word is the truth (John 17:17):

Therefore the word of the Father is truth. Numbers 24:35 Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will not pass away.

IV. What freedom does this truth give?

1) Freedom from sin.

“Everyone who commits sin is a slave to sin.” Because he is a servant of the devil, he pursues sin, pursues darkness, and is bound by evil thoughts. But if you believe in Jesus, your sins will be forgiven and you will be saved. This is spiritual freedom. Therefore, we should be grateful for living in Jesus Christ with spiritual freedom, freedom from sin.

2) Freedom from disease.

Jesus came as light into the world, father of lies
