Title: People Who Give Blessings
Text: Galatians 3:6
[Bible text]
It is like Abraham “believing in God, and God credited it to him as righteousness.” Therefore, you know that those who live by faith are descendants of Abraham. Also, the Bible, knowing in advance that God would justify the Gentiles by faith, delivered the good news to Abraham, saying, “All the nations will be blessed through you.” Therefore, those who live by faith will be blessed together with Abraham who has faith.

Jesus said, “Whoever loves father or mother more than me is not suitable for me, and whoever loves son or daughter more than me is not suitable for me” (Matthew 10:37). Just as we must honor the elders first when there are elders in the family, we must first honor the greatest man, God. Today is the second Sunday of Advent. Advent is the season of waiting for Jesus. Jesus is truly alive, but let's not just try to be kind to people with Jesus in the background.
There are countless denominations in Korea. In 1517, Martin Luther's Reformation divided the New and Old Churches. Since then, Protestantism has been divided into denominations such as Presbyterian, Lutheran, Methodist, Anglican, Baptist, Holiness... and so on. In Korea, these denominations have not only entered the country, but also many sects have been formed there. Even for elders, there are captains and ceremonies, and ceremonies are also so many that I can't even remember their names, such as reform, reform, joint reform, and remuneration instead of joint unified gosin. All of these sects say they are orthodox. But what is truly authentic? As Paul said, the descendants of Abraham are the true orthodox. As God said, Abraham was a blessing to the Gentiles. Therefore, if you are a descendant of orthodox Abraham, you must take on the role of distributing blessings to the world. Orthodox denominations do not depend on their name, but on 'how much blessing they practice'.
These days, a TV show broadcasts a program called 'Success Era' every week. What are the criteria for success in this pro? In this show, the person who made a lot of money, who appeared in the media and gained recognition, seems to be the criterion for success. But who is truly successful? Not money, status, fame, or knowledge, but 'how much you share with your neighbors and how much you benefit them' should be the standard.
Now that it is the end of the year, there are many gatherings such as class reunions. When I go to a meeting, I always get nervous because of the question of 'who is better?' There are a lot of people who go to these kinds of gatherings because of their good taste, so people who don't see much are reluctant to go to these kinds of gatherings. What could be the cause of this? The criteria for judging people are where they go to school, what clothes they wear, what their children are like, how much money they have, what cars they drive, how many pyeong of an apartment they live in, what is their status. It's probably because it's focused on the things you do. But you don't live like that. The standard of a successful person should be 'how much you do good to your neighbors'.
Always be the one who imparts blessings and the one who brings virtue. If you do that, you will fulfill your role as a descendant of orthodox Abraham and a member of the faith.
