Title: Lessons from Thanksgiving

Text: Galatians 6:6-10

There is an old proverb that says, "When you plant beans, you get beans, and when you plant red beans, you get beans.

I think these words are teaching us a lesson through thousands of years of farming experience.

This proverb is not meant to say that biologically, beans come from beans and red beans from red beans.

This saying has come to be passed down as a proverb to us because it teaches us that even in human society, rewards or punishments always follow according to actions.

The text says, "Whatever a man sows, that he also reaps."

He teaches the principle that if you sow much, you will reap much; if you sow little, you will reap little.

Even through the four seasons, God is giving us spiritual lessons.

Today, on Thanksgiving Day, I would like to talk with you under the title "Lessons of Thanksgiving" through the contents of this text.

First, the lesson is that you sow to reap.

In 2 Corinthians 9:10 it says, "He who gives seed and bread to eat to those who sow will give and enrich what you sow, and increase the fruit of your righteousness."

It is a wrong idea to try to reap without sowing.

The writer of Ecclesiastes said, "Throw your food upon the water, and after many days you will find it back" (Ecclesiastes 11:1).

To plant, there must be labor in the field and sacrifice in sowing seeds, and the effort and devotion to nurture can be achieved in autumn.

This is the reason the lazy and evil man said, "Lord, you are a hard man, knowing that you reap where you do not sow, and gather where you do not harm" (Matthew 25:24-26).

Matthew 25:26-30 "His master answered and said, "You wicked and lazy servant, did you know that I reap where I did not sow, and gather where I have not harmed?

Then you should leave my money with the Zurich and then come back to me to receive my principal and interest.

Take the one talent from him and give it to the one who has ten talents.

Anyone who has will receive and have an abundance, but from anyone who does not have, even what he has will be taken away.

Cast this useless servant into the outer darkness, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth."

It is an eternal and unchanging truth that there is a time to plant and then a time to pluck (Ecclesiastes 3:2).

When you work hard, you have to work, when you need to invest, you have to invest, and when you sacrifice, you have to sacrifice.

God blesses the work of man's hands.

“The Lord will open for you the beautiful treasury of heaven, and he will send rain on your land in its season, and he will bless you in all the work of your hands. ).

Therefore, Exodus 20:9 emphasizes that we must work diligently for six days.

We must plant hard for the future of tomorrow.

Second, the lesson is that you reap what you sow.

Verse 7 says, “Whatever a man sows, that he will also reap.”

The seed does not pay a false price because its essence is true.

No matter what we do, the result will be what we do.

Revelation 22:12 says, “Behold, I am coming soon, and my reward is with me, to repay each one according to what he has done.”

Those who do evil will reap the fruits of evil, and those who do good will reap the fruits of good.

In Job 4:8, Job's friend said, "If you plow evil and sow poison, you will also reap."

If you sow to the body, you will reap the corruption of the body; if you sow to the spirit, you will reap eternal life.

Therefore, let us sow righteousness, reap the fruit of righteousness, and sow the seeds of righteousness.

Third, the lesson is that you reap as much as you sow.

2 Corinthians 9:6 says, “He who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and he who sows bountifully will also reap bountifully.”

Our Lord emphasized this saying that if you sow a lot, you will reap a lot; if you work a lot, you will receive a lot of wages.

Matthew 19:27-29 "Then Peter answered and said, Behold, we have left everything and followed you; therefore, what shall we gain?

Jesus said to them, “Truly, I say to you, when the world is renewed and the Son of Man sits on his glorious throne, you who follow me will also sit on twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel.

And everyone who has left houses or brothers or sisters or father or mother or children or lands for the sake of my name will receive many times more, and will inherit eternal life."

In this world, if you help the poor and the needy in the name of the Lord, you will receive it many times later.

Matthew 25:33-46 “The sheep will be on his right hand, and the goats will be on his left.

Then the king said to those on his right hand, 'Come, you who are blessed by my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world.

I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me.

When I was naked, I clothed you; I was sick and I visited you; I was in prison and I came to see you.

Then the righteous answered and said, Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you drink?

When did you see him a stranger and welcome him, or naked and clothe him?

When did I see you sick or in prison, and go to see you?

The king answered and said, "Truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brethren, you did it to me."

And he said to those on his left, 'Depart from me, you cursed ones, into the everlasting fire prepared for the devil and his angels.

I was hungry and you gave no food, I was thirsty and you gave me no drink, I was a stranger and you did not welcome me, Naked and you did not clothe me, I was sick and in prison and you did not visit me.

They also answered and said, "Lord, when did we see you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or naked or sick or in prison, and did not make offerings to you?

Then the king will answer, truly I tell you, whatever you did not do for one of the least of these, you did not do for me.” They will go into eternal punishment, and the righteous into eternal life.”

I hope that you will receive the lessons given on Thanksgiving Day and be blessed with great blessings in this life and in the life to come.
