Title [Genesis 32:26-30] Jacob's Prayer
Prayer is a means of religious practice that exists in all religions. There are times when we are eager to achieve our wishes through this prayer, but all our efforts are in vain in many cases. Today, I would like to introduce the characteristics of Christian prayer through Jacob's prayer and receive grace.
1. Christian prayer has an important meaning.
① It is a means of communion with God. God meets us through prayer, speaks to us, and hears our voices. Unlike other religions, Christianity is a religion in which God is intimate with the Absolute God and fellowship is like a family. None of the religions that exist in the world calls the divine being they worship as their father. Only we can have fellowship like a family by calling God our Father. Because prayer is an important means of fellowship, he was told to pray always (Luke 18:1) and to pray without ceasing (1 Thessalonians 5:17).
③ It is a means of repenting of sins and returning to God to be embraced by God. Human beings, who are fragile beings, have no choice but to commit sins no matter who they are. Without resolving that sin, we cannot escape the eternal punishment of hell. Prayer is the means of solving that problem. When we repent with tears, God forgives and heals all our sins and embraces us with love.
Hosea 5:15-6:1 says this: “I will wait for them to return to my place and repent of their sins and seek my face. When they are afflicted, seek me earnestly and say, ‘Come, let us return to the Lord. He has torn us, but he will heal us. smitten, but will bind him up.” In this way, God's love is abundant. He accepts and forgives all those who repent of their sins and heals all wounds. Don't hesitate to pray, let's become the saints who are embraced by the Lord. In Luke 15, the prodigal son is introduced. When he repented of his sins and returned to ask for forgiveness, the Father who rejoiced greatly and gave a feast refers to God. Prayer is such an important means of repenting and returning to the Lord.
2. Christian prayer has life and power.
