Title Genesis 45:3-8 Shortcut
Contents Genesis 45:3-8
Joseph suffered extreme misfortunes that were difficult to bear as a human being. He was sold into human trafficking by his jealous brothers, and was accused of molesting by his loyal master and imprisoned. An average person would have lived in the dark shade with grudges and teeth for the rest of his life. However, he overcame such trials and stood tall as the prime minister of Egypt, a great power at the time. What made Joseph overcome the years of betrayal and painful struggles?
First, I had a dream that God gave me. When Joseph was a teenager, he had two dreams. Once, while tying grain in a field, I had a dream in which my brothers' sheaf bowed down to Joseph's sheaf. Another dream was that the sun, moon, and eleven stars bowed down to him. The dream gave Joseph a vision that he would be worshiped by his family. Because of the bright dreams in my heart, my perspective on suffering has changed. While faithfully adapting to a painful environment, they refused bitterness or curses. He had an extinguishing agent to digest any nuggets of misery. It was the extinguishing agent called 'dream'.
Second, God makes a shortcut to life through dreams. Although God 'loves' all of God's children, he 'uses' dreamers even among those who love him. It is easy for many to think that Joseph must have sailed in the wind when he became prime minister. However, after becoming prime minister, the challenges around him would not have been formidable. It would have been the object of envy of bureaucrats and political elites like the Kira Castle of Egypt right away. They must have been intent on getting Joseph to be nicked and plotting every conspiracy to open a gap between the king and Joseph. But it was also a dream that the beetle made Joseph persevere in the same environment. Dreams have breakthrough power. Dreams make the best way even in the worst environment and take you to a shortcut.
Third, you must become a person who follows the shortcut created by your dreams. The most representative shortcut is probably a tunnel. Tunnels make it easy to get on the way back for a long time. However, it takes labor, sacrifice, and time to dig the ground and cut stones to create an easily accessible tunnel. Joseph reached the goal of raising his status, which would be impossible for his whole life, after 13 years of tunnel construction called slavery and prison. In order to take the shortcut of this blessing, you must first have a dream.
People who take the shortcut created by their dreams have a different attitude towards the environment. Joseph chose the best attitude with sincerity in the midst of hardship. Even in a painful environment, he firmly held on to the word of God and trusted God (Psalm 105:17-19).
As a result, God made them prosper in the midst of slavery and imprisonment (Genesis 39:2~3, 23). They also have different attitudes towards others. Do not curse or attack the perpetrator. Joseph forgave his brothers and did not take revenge on Potiphar and his wife. Like Joseph, have a dream, be patient, forgive, and be faithful. If so, you are already on a shortcut.
