Title [Genesis 47:27-31] Jacob's Faith
It is by no means easy to live by faith unwaveringly for the rest of your life. Moreover, it is very difficult to keep the faith even while living abroad. However, the text introduces the precious faith of Jacob, who kept his faith even though he did not settle in one place for the rest of his life. We earnestly hope that we will become saints who strengthen our own faith by examining his faith.
1. I knew it was a stranger's life (9).
2. I had confidence in God's promises (words) (30).
3. They worshiped God (31).
Joseph promised that he would do what his father had said when he asked Jacob to bury me in the grave of my ancestors when I died. Then Jacob worshiped God from the head of his bed. At the age of 147, he gave thanks, praised, and glorified God with his weakened body. A person of faith must learn to be thankful like this. We must also give glory to God. Even though Joseph promised, knowing God's grace and giving thanks and worshiping God is considered right faith. I hope we have this kind of faith too. Worshiping God is something that all believers should practice. Even if your body is weak and you can't even go to the temple, you need to live a life of worshiping God even in bed. Isaiah 43:21 says, “This people I have formed for myself, that they may sing my praises.” We must value the worship of God. Because it is a confession of faith. Public worship must be attended by those in attendance. We must worship God often in private and become believers who please God. May Jacob's faith be with us all.
