Title [Genesis 50:19-26] Joseph's Faith
Joseph was a man who lived his life by faith. When writing Genesis, Moses emphasized the importance of Joseph, especially by recording the deeds of Joseph in detail (Genesis 37: -50:). 1 Chronicles 5:1 mentions that Reuben's birthright passed to Joseph, but that shows that Joseph was a precious person to the nation of Israel. Now, by examining Joseph's faith shown in this chapter, I hope that we will receive grace and have a precious history of imitating that faith.
1. He was a compassionate believer.
Believers are generous and compassionate in everything. There can be no concessions or compromises regarding the truth, but they are always tolerant of other matters. Joseph was strong-willed in his work (Genesis 47:13-26), but on the other hand, it can be seen that he was also rich in the static side. In Genesis 45:2, I cried a lot while revealing myself to my brothers. In Genesis 43:30, when I saw my brother Benjamin and loved him, I went into my bedroom and wept. shows that there is (17). He deserves to have his teeth sharpened against his brothers who hated him and tried to kill him, but he shows the virtue of compassion for them, comforting them, and providing what they need. In this age when compassion (love) has dried up, let us live a life full of compassion like Joseph. When we see someone in need, we earnestly hope that we will become saints who can help each other through suffering and tears. This is what a true believer looks like.
2. He was a believer in God's sovereignty (providence) (19-21).
3. He was a believer who believed in God's promises (24-25).
