Title Genesis 06:5-8 The Open Future
Contents Genesis 6:5-8
Today we are committing many sins that God grieves for. Political leaders commit the sin of forgetting the fundamental principle of politics by focusing on power struggles without caring for the people's livelihood, and economic leaders committing the sin of forgetting the fundamentals of economy by focusing solely on the pursuit of profit. , religious leaders are committing the sin of forgetting faith, the foundation of religion, by losing the socially participatory faith based on the prophetic spirit shown by their ancestors throughout history and getting caught up in denominationalism and local churchism. At such times, believers should realize the seriousness of these sins and take the lead in building the kingdom of God by restoring faith that encompasses personal and social salvation.
1500 years have passed since Adam and Eve were expelled from the Garden of Eden until the time of Noah, and many people had many children and lived long on the earth. This was what God wanted. But they gradually moved away from God. The descendants of the godly sons of Seth, the sons of God, married only the beauty of the daughters of the descendants of the ungodly Cain, the daughters of men, and just as the descendants of Cain 'leaved the Lord' (Genesis 4:16) and lived according to their own desires. Seth's descendants also joined the ranks of this corruption. The descendants of Seth wanted to marry their spouses based on their outward conditions, not their inner beauty or faith. This meant that they forsook God and lived a secular life.
God knows that the thoughts of people like the Nephilim at that time are always evil, and He judges the whole world with a flood. However, in the midst of such judgment, God prepared Noah, the righteous man of the age. The whole earth was corrupted and God's wrath was imminent, but God loved mankind and was pleased with Noah's godliness and righteousness in order to save mankind from that wrath. Like Enoch, Noah was faithful and devout in his faith “in walking with God” (Gen. 6:9).
A new era is opened through righteous people who have an eye for history and practice the kingdom of God and righteousness in concrete life fields. The future is newly opened through the righteous who discover infinite sense of responsibility for the nation in God-centered faith.
As the relationship between the two Koreas is stiff enough to be called a new Cold War system, and the gap between the rich and the poor is getting deeper and deeper, what is needed is a righteous person like Noah who prepared for a new era with godly faith. He is the righteous man God is looking for.
God opened a new future through Noah. Today, when Korean Christianity stands as the righteous in this age, like Noah, God will be pleased with the righteousness of Korean Christianity and open a new world.
