Title Glory (Ephesians 1:3-6)
Faith is a person who knows why he is living. Humans live without knowing why they are living on this earth. I don't know why I have to live, I just live by my instinct to live. In order to survive, they want to earn money and to excel and have power. So many people live their dreams in their own way, but in reality it is not a dream but an instinct to live. Man was originally created to glorify God.
That is why, in the first question of the Catechism, as we know it, man's chief end is to glorify God and to please him forever. Humans are meant to live to glorify God. Such a human either does not glorify God because of their sins, but lives to glorify themselves or to glorify perishable animals and waste. So, sin is not something else, but not glorifying God is a sin. Thinking from this perspective, salvation is not just going from hell to heaven, but knowing what the glory of God is and living for it. However, because we have been living our life of faith in such a way that we have been the center of our lives, we have only focused on being saved, so we do not know that our salvation is to know the glory of God and to live for it.
Today's text is a message that makes it clear to us the purpose of our life. That is, it is said that he made us sons to glorify the glory of God. In that sense, it seems that we first need to clarify the concept of what made us sons. He made us sons, and for that purpose He sent Jesus to die on the cross to save us and make us sons. Then at least that Jesus died for us, making us as valuable as the Lord. In other words, the existence of the kingdom is that Jesus died on the cross and became a worthy being worthy of salvation. Jesus and I have been exchanged. Then it's not about whether we were worthwhile in the first place. He was a garbage man. But it is that Jesus has made us into such valuable beings that He died and made us alive. It means that you made them sons.
Then the question is whether he made us so poor as sons like that. Is it simply to take you to heaven? no. If we only know that, we are living a very poor life of faith. It is not that He made us sons of God so that we might know and live for His glory. In other words, to know the glory of God and to live for it is to live like the Son of God. Then how did Jesus, the Son of God, live? How did he glorify God? What did the angels apparently say when he was born on this earth? Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace among those with whom he is pleased. What does this word mean? It was the glory of God that Jesus lived. What was that glorious life like? It was the life of the cross. It was a life where there was no place to lay your head in this world. What kind of life was such a life in God's eyes? It was a blessing to God.
What glory have we envisioned up to this point? By using God for me, I have been thinking that it is an honor to God that I am well and that I am successful. But the glory to God was the life of the cross. We too are called to live that life. This is the life of a person who has become a son, and this is the purpose of life. Like Jesus, who was the first demonstration teaching assistant on this earth, we too are living such a life on this earth. It is to live a life that is not bound by the things of this earth. It is not living according to the ways and principles of this world. How does this land exist? It is the way of this world that I have to protect and fight with my own strength and live my life. It is to protect my honor with my own strength and to protect everything I have with my strength. So those who harm me are my enemies, those who hate me are my enemies, and those who trouble me and harm me live in an unforgivable way. But we don't live that way.
Because the things of this earth do not save me. Nothing on this earth prolongs my life and makes me live, but I live knowing that only God's grace holds me. Already we are the possessors of everything. But there is no need to covet the things of this land, right? What else in this world would seem worthwhile to me if I knew that what we have is immense? What does the bible say? what to eat Don't worry about what you will wear or what you will drink. And what do you give an example? What are the lilies in the field compared to? It is compared to the glory of Solomon. We want you to know how great we are. That is why we live so proudly and confidently. God wants to show that there is a heaven and that God exists by making us sons and allowing us to live on this earth. This is evangelism. How do you do that? He does this because he makes him live like a son.
Who is right, who is better, who is better, these things should not work. Who is pretty and who has succeeded in what, and this shouldn't work. The glory of God was not revealed through these things, but by dying on the cross. We are called to be that way. Heaven is just such a place. I hope that all of you, dear saints, will clearly understand the purpose of God making me a son and become such believers who truly live for that glory.
