Text: “This is the news we have heard from him and bring you this: God is light, and there is no darkness in him. If we say that we have fellowship with God and walk in darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth. If we say that we have not sinned, we make God a liar, and his word is not in us” (1 John 1:5-10).
What would happen if there was no light in the world? All living things receive light and sustain their life. Also, all things need light to be discerned and their appearance will be revealed. No matter how beautiful a color is, if there is no light, everything is null and void.
Light reveals the value of everything. Today's Bible verse speaks of such an important light. It tells us that 'God is light'.
We cannot live without light, but God is light, and we cannot live without God. Without God, we have no worth. Any value is revealed in God. Any living thing can survive only if God exists.
If we say that we have fellowship with God and walk in darkness, we cannot walk in darkness while claiming to be close to the light. In the end, walking in darkness is proof that you do not have fellowship with the light. And when we are in the light, the blood of Christ cleanses us from sin. Because the blood of Christ works in the will of God.
All lives are sinners. Therefore, if you say you have no sin, you are deceiving yourself. If you confess your sins, you admit your sins. If you confess and vomit, you will be cleansed.
If we say that we are all sinners even though we are all sinners, we have the result of making God a liar, who says that all life is sinful. This is a vain act, committing a sin that cannot abide in the grace of God. Furthermore, because the Word of God does not dwell in it, there is no salvation, no power, no grace, no blessings. There is nothing that can be hidden from God who is light.
Prayer: We believe that the wisest life is to reveal ourselves before God. May we all live a life that reveals ourselves before God. I pray in Jesus name. Amen.
