Praise: Chapter 409 “My thirsty soul”
Confession of Faith: Apostles' Creed
Meditation: Do I have a correct self-image? Jesus, please keep me so that I can live righteously.
main text:"… An angel of the LORD appeared to Gideon and said, "Great warrior, the LORD is with you." ” (Judges 6:11-14)
Word: We all have a self-image. This is something that is created in childhood by parents, friends, teachers, or the environment.
A self-image that is too big is a problem, but there are some people who struggle with being too small.
But we can look at us as God sees us, no more and no less. The important thing is to correct each distorted self-image.
Of course, it can be difficult on your own. But it is possible with God's healing.
“Great warrior!”
In today's text, God refers to Gideon as a 'great warrior'. Gideon thought of himself as a poor man. He was one of the smallest tribes of Manasseh and had his own birth complex. God came to Gideon and called him a great warrior.
God said he would be with Gideon and make him a great warrior. Of course, that wasn't the case today. God has declared a hope for the future.
We don't have to listen to the negatives of the past. It is Satan's scheme to hope that this will happen. Therefore, you must look at yourself from God's perspective.
Many people are tied to the present as well as the past. Satan is holding us back with material difficulties, health problems, and environmental problems.
But God sees us from a different perspective. What God shows us is our true self-image. What Satan shows is a distorted and false self-image.
God says “You are weak now, but I will make you strong.” “Even if you lack it now, I will make you whole.”
We pray that we will become victorious Christians in our lives, not forgetting that we are “great warriors” with God.
Prayer: Heavenly Father, thank you for calling me a great warrior. I go forward believing that He will make me strong when I am weak. May you live a victorious life in the present as well as in the past. I pray in Jesus name. Amen.
