Title habit of reflexive prayer

The reflexive prayer habit

Text/ Luke 18:1-8

1. Introduction

Last week, we said that there are several types of prayer. Wish prayer - meditation prayer - contemplative prayer is that.

However, some people classify these three prayer types as contemplative prayers based on the degree of profoundness, followed by contemplative prayers as wish prayers. But my opinion is a little different. Such a distinction is a human distinction, and such a distinction is meaningless in the sight of God. High-level prayer - There is no such thing as low-level prayer. Why? God is an immature child's simple, simple, straightforward prayer--philosophical, universal, This is because he is the one who listens to the prayers of the saints who are suffering from the highest and purest problems without discrimination and answers them according to the circumstances of each person who prays.

However, wish prayer-meditative prayer-contemplative prayer is not a question of level and depth of prayer, but these three types of prayer exist in the existential prayer of a person who has already formed a prayer habit.融化 (fusion) may appear.

2. What is reflexive prayer?

Wish prayer is a prayer in which a person seeks to receive an answer by asking God about his or her existential problem - a clear prayer topic with an earnest heart. Most of the prayers that appear throughout the Bible from Genesis to Revelation are prayer prayers.

Abraham's prayer (Genesis 12-22) - Eliezer's prayer (Genesis 24) - Jacob's prayer (Genesis 32) - Moses' prayer (Exodus 14-33) - Joshua's prayer that made the sun stand still (Joshua 5:13-11) :23) - Gideon's prayer (Judges 6) - Hannah's prayer (1 Samuel 1) - Samuel's prayer (1 Samuel 15) - David's prayer (2 Samuel 12, 1 Samuel 16, David's psalm) - Solomon's prayer (2 Chron 6) - Elijah's prayer on Mount Carmel (1 Kings 18) - Elisha's prayer (2 Kings 6) - Jabez's prayer (1 Chronicles 4) - Samson's prayer (Judges 16) - Hezekiah's prayer (2 Kings 19-20) - Isaiah's prayer (Isa. 1) - Jeremiah's prayer (Jeremiah 32) - Daniel's prayer (Dan 6) - Nehemiah's prayer (Nehemiah 1) - Habakkuk's prayer (Habakkuk 3) - Jesus' prayer - Centurion, Jairus, Syrobonic woman, hemorrhagic disease The woman, Bartimaeus, and Stephen's prayer (Acts 7) - Peter's prayer (Acts 10) - Paul's prayer (Ephesians 3, 2 Corinthians 12) - Intercessory prayer (1 Timothy 2, Hebrews 13) - Fasting prayer (Matthew 6, Ezra 8) - All-night prayer (1 Samuel 15, 2 Samuel 12, Luke 6) - Early morning prayer (Psalm 5, 46, 57, 119, Mark 1:35) - United prayer (Dan 2:18, Acts 1:14), etc. are indescribable. . These are all wish prayers.

3. Make reflexive prayer a habit!

first. Faith! As listed above, the life circumstances (zite im leben) of the people who prayed the wish were personal, family, social, national, and national, and each person had a different color. But one thing they have in common is the fact that the hearts of all these people prayed with earnest - desperate - pure - and strong faith.

*Believe in God. Truly I say to you, if you say to this mountain, ‘Be lifted up and cast into the sea,’ and do not doubt in your heart, believing that what it says will come true, it will be done for you. Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask in prayer, believe that you have received it (Mark 11:23). 24) * Ask in faith, and do not doubt at all. Those who doubt are like waves of the sea driven and tossed by the wind. Do not expect such a person to receive anything from the Lord (James 1:6-8) 18:1-8) etc.

second. It is to pray consistently-constantly-at a fixed time-without trembling-as a noble habit. He goes to the unjust judge mentioned in the text from time to time and says, “Release my resentment against my enemies!” The widow's prayer, who prayed, did not stop with just one or two prayers. It is a habituated prayer in a positive sense.

Today, we have too many things to pray for, such as economic issues - children's education - workplace issues - human relationships - health issues - confrontation between the two Koreas - each individual's inner spiritual problems. All these wishing prayers should become a noble habit in a positive sense, and for this purpose, I think it will be of great help to remember the following few points.

(1) A certain space-time-prayer atmosphere must be prepared according to each person's circumstances.

(2) Just as a thrifty housewife carefully writes a household account book, it is to carefully write a prayer journal.

(3) Prayer is not a duty, but the establishment of self-esteem as a privilege of the children of God.

third. God hears our prayers (Psalm 65:2, Isaiah 65:24). We people want our prayers to be answered immediately. But God's thoughts are different from human thoughts. God responds in various ways according to each person's circumstances.

(1) There are times when you say <Yes!>.

(2) There are times when you say <No!> (Paul's prayer for the removal of thorns, 2 Corinthians 12:7).

(3) There are times when you do <Wait!>.

Therefore, the apostle Paul said, “Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God, and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4). :6-7)” he said. In other words, our Heavenly Father is a God who surpasses all understanding.
