Title [Happy Today] A person who loves Jerusalem

Contents

Psalm 122:6-9

David has very precious words in verse 6 of the text. “Pray for peace for Jerusalem,” he said, “those who love Jerusalem prosper.” Jerusalem means 'place of peace'. Jerusalem is the holy city. From time immemorial, the people of Israel regarded Jerusalem as a holy city. So I loved Jerusalem and thought it very noble. The reason why Jerusalem is the holy city is because there was the temple of God, a symbol of God's presence. The city where God reigns, the city where God is present, and Jerusalem are further symbolized as the church bought by the blood of Jesus Christ in the New Testament era.

Those who love Jerusalem are those who love the Church. Let's see who loves Jerusalem.

First, those who make it a pleasure to go up to the house of God. Jerusalem was first chosen as the city of God during the reign of King David. You don't know how much David loved the temple. David longed for the temple even while avoiding his enemies. Like David, worship before the living God is the happiest thing in life, and visiting the temple of the living God should be the greatest pleasure in life. Such a person is a person who loves Jerusalem.

Second, those who love Jerusalem are those who put their feet in the gates of Jerusalem. How moved David was, and how much he longed for and missed Jerusalem is admiring, “I am now living in the gates of Jerusalem, which I dreamed of. Those who love Jerusalem must put their feet in the temple. This means that we should live a church-centered life. Those who love Jerusalem and love the church live a church-centered life.

Third, those who love Jerusalem are those who go up to Jerusalem to give thanks to God. It is said that the people of the twelve tribes of Israel went up to Jerusalem, according to the custom of Israel, “to give thanks to the name of the Lord.” The reason the people of Israel came to the temple and went up to Jerusalem was to praise and give thanks to God's grace. That's right. The purpose of going up to Jehovah's house and church is to give thanks and worship.

Fourth, those who love Jerusalem are those who seek the peace of Jerusalem. Those who strive for the peace of the church are those who love Jerusalem and who truly love the church. When the church is in peace, business and family will be at peace. When the church is in trouble, even what you are doing doesn't go well. Only when the church is gracious can the members receive blessings. Therefore, we must become the saints who strive for the church to be gracious and the church to be at peace.

Lastly, those who love Jerusalem are those who seek the blessings of the saints and establish beautiful fellowship with them. David is now seeking blessings and peace for his brother and neighbor. Those who love Jerusalem are those who have good relations with the saints. A person who prays for the blessings of the saints and seeks the peace of the saints. Pray for the blessings of the saints living together in faith and strive to live a life that seeks peace.

The saints should take pleasure in going up to the house of the Lord. You must put your feet in the city of Jerusalem. We must live a church-centered life. We must go up to Jerusalem to thank and praise God. Seek the peace of Jerusalem. We must pray for the blessings of the saints and wish to establish a beautiful fellowship. When we do this, we will enjoy the blessings of God's prosperity and peace.
