Ephesians 6:1 4
It is said that honoring one's parents is the first commandment with the promise of well-being and long life on earth. “Honor your father and mother, as the LORD your God commands you, so that you may live long and be blessed in the land the LORD your God is giving you” (Deuteronomy 5:16).
The Bible teaches that the secret of a person's happiness and longevity is that the first is to honor their parents and the second is to bless each other. There is a saying that goes, “A house that smiles will bring full happiness”. A house where laughter is heard is a house that blesses each other and a house that loves each other. Parents bless their children and children bless their parents, so the laughter does not stop.
First, let's become a family that blesses each other. A well-to-do house is a house that blesses each other. The blessing of parents and children is love nurtured by the Lord's education and admonition, and the blessing of children's parents is to honor and please them.
Children, bless your parents. In any case, it is the child's duty to honor their parents. Because when God commanded you to honor your parents, you did not put any conditions on it.
This means that we should not only respect our parents when they are good and just, but also be careful when making mistakes and not lose respect. When Ham saw the mistakes of his father Noah, he lost his respect and spread his transgressions with his mouth, and he was cursed for generations to come. But when Shem and Japheth found out about their father's mistake, they went backwards and covered them with a blanket so that they would not see the fault. How precious is this action?
Not only did he not do anything that would undermine his father's authority, he was careful not to even look at him. Parents do not only bless their children when they do well. Even when they make a mistake or commit an injustice, parents pray for their children with tears.
Children! Don't try to criticize your parents, but bless them. Do not look at the faults of your parents and bless them. Do not undermine parental authority by pressure. In other words, don't upset your parents. It is easy to turn a parental blessing into a curse. If something has broken your parents' hearts, please get down at the foot of the cross and repent.
Also, let's become saints who bless each other between brothers and neighbors. When we bless each other, we live a happy life. The family is happy, the relatives are happy, the neighbors are happy, the church is peaceful and the country is revitalized.
The psalmist confessed, “He hated to bless, and the blessings departed from him, and he cursed like a garment on him, and curses went into his intestines like water, and into his bones like oil” (Psalm 109:17-18).
Let's praise God and bless everyone. Let's have a family worship service and give praise to God. Let's keep singing and giving thanks in our homes, and let's praise God, the source of all blessings. Again, honoring parents is the first commandment. This is because parents are the messengers of God who have established them as the channel of life and the channel of blessing.
We wish all of us blessing each other and honoring our parents, so that we can enjoy the blessings of heaven and long life on earth.
