Title [Happy Today] Board the ‘Train of Hope’
Contents
It reminds me of my childhood. There was a time when I put a ladder on a tall tree and climbed it and wondered what was in the distance. Also, I put a wooden ladder on the eaves of a house and climbed on the roof to look down at the locals passing by. I miss everything, including the ladder occupying the area, the tree looking at the wide world, and the people of the neighborhood.
There is a story in the Bible of a person who cannot forget this ladder, just like my childhood memories. There was a young man who was bloody and bloodless, a traveler who went on an aimless road, and a poor young man who was chased by his older brother and ran away from his hometown and his parents. He lay down. His parents, whom he had left behind through the halo of the sky, pass by. But he had to struggle in the pitch-black darkness with no time to shed tears, engulfed in anxiety and fear of the coming future. No promises were made.
That very night, in a dream, he saw a ladder going up and down. He met God speaking to him on the ladder and the open sky above the ladder, and he heard that amazing voice blessing his dark future. '(Genesis 29:1) started towards a new future. The ladder is the hope of life. While we are living our faith, we forget that there is a ladder of grace and love, thanks and blessing, joy and power that God gives us. There are many times when we live like this. Even though we can climb this ladder to the amazing 'world of blessing', we are rejecting it ourselves.
Observing the gruesome reality of the Jewish camps committed by Nazi Germany, Dr. Frankl, in his book 'The Search for Meaning of Man,' distinguished the people in the camps this way: “He who gave up in his heart soon became weak. However, those who had hope survived to the end. Those who not only had hope on their own, but also helped those in despair and encouraged them to continue to have hope, were in the healthiest state both physically and mentally.” The difference between those who have hope and those who don't is life or death.
Paul Hill said, “Hope convinces us that we are going to be blessed with great joy and happiness, and makes us wait for them to the end, and endures all hardships for them.” Hope is certainly a precious ladder in our lives. I pray that you will climb up this ladder of hope and become your own to possess the precious spiritual world that God has given you.
The church, which is building a new education center of about 600 pyeong next to the church, plans to provide various welfare facilities for the residents here, and does not spare support for worship education and missionary fellowship by tying all families into cell organizations.
