Title [Happy Today] What God has given us
Contents
Text: 2 Timothy 1:7
How to live a happy person? A person who lives with what God has given can be said to be a happy saint. So, what has God given us? The first thing we need to know is that God has not given us a spirit of fear. Adam and Eve ate the forbidden fruit, ate and hid. It teaches us that the root of human fear is sin.
There are three types of fear in our hearts. These are the actual fear that comes from a crisis situation, the moral fear that comes from the judgment of conscience, and the unconscious fear of the unconscious. What fears do you have in your heart? There may be fears of illness or business failure, fears about the future of your children, or vague fears. God says, “Do not be afraid, for I am with you” (Isaiah 41:10). You must know that the heart of fear is not from God, but from Satan.
What has God given you?
First is ability. The Lord has given you the power to overcome circumstances. For a person of faith, the environment does not matter. Paul carries out his mission by preaching the gospel with the power of God in the midst of such a starving and beating environment. He also gave us the power to overcome adversity. The text encourages Timothy to overcome the hardships that he faced while preaching the gospel, and says that God gives him power.
Second is love. Christianity is a religion of the cross. Where do family and church problems begin today? The problem is that love has cooled down. Happiness is when there is love in the home. 1 Corinthians 13 emphasizes that without love there is nothing. There is an English proverb: “If you want to buy bread, pay in coins, if you want to buy furniture, you pay in money, and if you want to buy love, pay yourself.” God paid Himself to show us love. We believe that if we believe in this love that God has given us and live by this love, we will become happy people of heaven.
Third, God has given us a sober heart. This is self-control and self-ruling mind. I asked a successful entrepreneur, “What was the most difficult thing?” and he replied, “Overcoming yourself.” Many of our problems are caused by not being able to control ourselves. In John 13, Satan put the idea of selling Jesus to Judas Iscariot. Judas committed the irreversible sin of selling Jesus because he could not rule himself. The devil instills guilt, shame, inferiority, and anger in the hearts of the saints, causing them to destroy themselves and depart from the faith.
“More than anything else, guard your heart, for it is the wellspring of life” (Proverbs 4:23). We must cultivate ourselves with the sober heart that God has given us. In the name of the Lord, I pray in the name of the Lord that you will become saints who live happily as the people of heaven with the power, love, and a sober heart that God has given us.
