Happy Family / Psalm 128:1-6

Psalm 128:1-6
A family is called a blood-related community. The reason is that the home is the place where people who share blood are intertwined. A home is also called a community of trust. The reason is that it is difficult to establish without trust and mutual trust. The family was created by God in the beginning. He created Adam, the husband, and Eve, the wife, and provided for them to have a family, and that is the beginning of our family today.
Psalm 128 is one of the songs that the Israelites sang when they went up to the temple to worship God. The background of this song praises the family as they go up to the temple and sings about the grace of God that comes upon the family.
Let's find out what the conditions for a happy family are in the text.
1. It is to fear God.
Verse 1 says, “Blessed is everyone who fears the Lord and walks in his ways.” As mentioned above, this verse is probably a song sung while watching the family go up to the temple holding hands at the time of the festival.
The first secret to a happy family is for the whole family to fear God together. And on Sundays, family members come to church together to worship and serve God. Cornelius, the protagonist of Acts 10, said, “He was devout and feared God with all his house” (10:2).
That was the case with American families in the 1950s. On Sundays, families in suits would gather together in a car to the church. It was a time of the sanctity and faith of the family at its peak. In the 1950s, the United States sent the most missionaries to the world, and its political and economic influence was unmatched.
After defeating the Republican government in the 1960s, Kennedy, the Democratic nominee, succeeded Eisenhower as president. At that time, the Republican Party was a conservative party, while the Democrats were a progressive party.
After becoming president, Kennedy banned the traditional prayer and Bible classes in public schools in the name of autonomy. The school, which started with prayer every morning, abolished prayer. And they pushed away the Bible study.
From then on, America began to falter. The children who grew up without prayer turned into rogues and began to see holes in their ethics and morals. Kennedy was assassinated by an extremist sniper, but I think it was God's will in my opinion.
Blessed are the nations and families that fear and love God. The country and its families are happy.
"Theodore Kaczynski" is a person who received a Ph.D. in mathematics from Harvard University and served as a professor at the University of Berkeley. But for 17 years, he bombarded the mail and committed terrorism. He is sentenced to four life sentences plus 30 years in prison and is in prison. Harvard University professor of mathematics, Berkeley University professor, but without the fear of God, you can become a terrorist who delivers bombs anywhere and kills people.
Knowledge is not happiness. It's not about being happy with what you have. They are not happy because of their beauty or health. It's a global statistic, but what does it mean that suicide rates are higher among the wealthy than the poor, the developed countries than the underdeveloped, the high-status than the low-status, and the beautiful than the ugly?
Blessed are families who serve God together. In that sense, we should pray for the salvation of our families. We must lead unbelieving families and families that are going to hell to the Lord as soon as possible.
2. A normal family is happy.
Verse 2 says, “You shall eat according to the toil of your hands.” What it means is that a family that earns a living in return for fair labor is blessed. Individuals, families, and countries must be normal. Values must be normal, and the way to earn and spend money must also be normal. Meetings between men and women should also be normal.
Occasionally, whenever we hear reports of North Korean diplomats being arrested or deported for drug smuggling, we see how shameful it is to rely on evasive or illegitimate methods to run the country.
In his letter to the Thessalonian church, Paul said, "We have heard that there are some among you who walk without measure, and do not work at all, but make work. 3:11-12) And he said, "If you don't want to work, don't even eat" (2 Thessalonians 3:10).
Only those who work have the right to speak and the right to eat. A person who steals other people's things without sweating is called a rogue. Income earned without effort is called unearned income. And illegally taking things that are not mine is called illicit wealth. However, such a method is neither a happy method nor a condition.
South Africa is famous for its diamond production. Since diamonds are very expensive gems, people who leave work are individually inspected using X-ray fluoroscopy. It is said that the light sources even find diamonds in the stomach that they swallowed. By this time, the light sources are in trouble because they have developed a new stealing method that binds a diamond stone to a pigeon's leg and sends it home. It is said that diamonds stolen in one way or another will account for more than 20% of the total production.
When you say that you sell stolen diamonds and make a living using that money to educate your children... What would be the result? What would the family and society be like if they used the stolen money to create politics and political parties, to slander and luxuriate with the money, and to raise and teach their children with that money?
Everything should be fine. Business must be normal, politics, economic structure, ethics, and life must also be normal.
I have 500 million won in capital, but 50 billion won in debt, and running a company or factory was the corporate structure of Korea, which was the main cause of today's IMF cold wave. In a word, the operation idea and structure were abnormal.
A drug called Viagra, which is said to be the biggest event since human development of the nuclear bomb, is said to be causing a global sensation as it treats male sexual disorders. However, on May 5, the American Academy of Ophthalmology issued a warning to be cautious while taking Viagra. As a result of clinical trials, after taking Viagra, the retinal function decreased by 30-50%, and the side effects of eye dysfunction lasted at least 5 hours.
Just because other people like it doesn't mean it's good. A man said that he ate 300 salmon in 3 years saying that it was good for the body. And in the end, it is said that the snake venom rose and died. Everything should be fine. We are happy when our faith, health maintenance, business, social life, and church life are normal.
3. We are happy when we have peace of mind.
Verse 3 says, “Your wife in the inner chambers of your house shall be like a fruitful vine, and your children around your table like young olive trees.” Boudoir here means home or master bedroom. The place where the wife sits in the inner room and the children sit around the table and talk about love with Oh Soon Do-soon should be the home, and it should be a happy place.
Psychologists say loneliness is more harmful than instant food, while love can save lives. For example, people with weak attachments to friends, family, spouses, and pets are two to five times more likely to die than those with strong attachments. Women who usually feel lonely are 3.5 times more likely to die from breast cancer, ovarian cancer, or uterine cancer. For men, those who live without the love of their wives are 50 percent more likely to develop angina within five years.
People with heart disease who are not loved are 50 percent more likely to develop arterial disease than people with heart disease who are loved by others. That's why Dr. Osini said, "It is better to open people's hearts than to have their breasts cut open." Loneliness is the direct or indirect cause of all ailments. A person learns to love at home and learns to live.
The last 8 days were Mother's Day. A letter sent to their parents by children in grades 5-6 of an elementary school in the city was introduced in a daily newspaper.
"It was the IMF era, so my father's appearance, returning late, seemed lonely and shabby. It hurts to see him buy a paste and put it on at home these days. I seem to have neglected my father's shoulder massage these days."
"I won't beg for money anymore. Knowing that my father hasn't had much work because of the IMF and his salary has been delayed for four months, we just insist on buying this and that. How upset must you be."
"I was in tears to say that my dad was going to Sydney, Australia because his job wasn't enough. I cry when I think of my dad who is going to another country for the three poor siblings. Today is Dad's departure day. Before going to school this morning. I cried when my dad hugged me, but I held it in."
If the children's understanding of their parents, the nanny's love for their children, and faith toward God are on top of that, then the family is truly a happy family. The courage and faith to overcome the crisis is more necessary and important than the crisis itself.
The men who were seeing advertisements for apartments in the newspaper were chatting. "I don't want to give this apartment for free." "If it's good, you'll welcome it double-handedly. "I don't want to put money on that apartment." "What is it?" "Look here. Doesn't it say "An apartment like my wife's"?
If this story is true, the couple is not a happy couple. The boudoir, the master bedroom should be happy.
4. Happy families looking at Jerusalem.
Verse 5 says, “The Lord bless you in Zion; see the blessings of Jerusalem all the days of your life, and the blessings of your children.” Jerusalem is the capital of Israel. And there was the temple. So Israel went up to the temple, and Jerusalem, where the temple was located, was called the Holy City.
A family that longs for the temple and a family that longs for spiritual blessings is a happy family. A happy family is a family where the whole family comes to church to worship and receive spiritual blessings on Sundays.
Our families are now being challenged by economic crises and moral threats. It is gradually becoming bleak and shaking. Let's fear God together as a family to create a happy family at such times.
Let's work, eat, and live normally. Let's make the living room peaceful. And longing for the temple, let's long for spiritual blessings. Let's transform our homes into a paradise overflowing with praise, thanksgiving and prayer.
"Blessed is everyone who fears the LORD and walks in his way." Amen
