Contents

Subject: Have you been to Peniel?

Word: Genesis 32:22-31

Psalm 146:3-5

People work hard and work hard for their own success.

* Sometimes earning a lot of money, * pursuing fame, * trampling on others in order to gain power, and * shredding quickly.

If you only look ahead while pursuing success, you are not very good at showing up even if you do.

* It's frustrating. * I am anxious and have a lot of nervousness in my heart. * Because I try to get things done quickly, I can't see others doing well. * So there is a lot of envy and jealousy, and there is no love or room for it.

- No matter how rich my life is with money, no matter how much fame and power I have

The world may call it a success, but it's not a blessing.

* Blessings to the saints? or not.

is.

silver? is.

silver? is to do it.

Jacob's life

? Independent and self-conceited person - the protagonist of the success story of wealth that was achieved apart from parents and siblings

? Preoccupation with the birthright's blessing - typical of a cunning man

? resourceful man - two wives

It is a life with everything. However, looking at his subsequent actions, there are things that cannot be found in Jacob.

** that there was no appearance.

What is the fundamental problem that many saints do not distinguish from the people of the world? to be.

Many believers pray not with , but with .

With the presence of God within us, we have to live by doing things, but it's just a pity that we pray every day.

After Jacob sent all his family, that place became Peniel.

Have you been to a time when you can't do this or that because of the twists and turns of life?

First, Peniel must go alone. (verse 24)

1) The greatest crisis in Jacob's life has come. , but for Jacob.

** It's not scary to cheat on your brother Esau.

In the meantime, I have been running well for success while cutting off blood and blood relations. , and so on.

However, all of this has come to a point where it can happen overnight.

It's scary for my brother, but it's a situation where the hard work you've worked so far can go back to in vain.

2) It's been good so far. I got everything good from my uncle Laban's house.

** I've got 4 wives, I've got children, I've got enough slaves, I've got riches, but there are things I don't have.

There is no.

Did you come in your own way without praying? In the end, when you are faced with , there is no one to share it with.

I don't know the deepest circumstances. They don't even know about this situation.

3) For Jacob, the steps to his hometown were the steps of the family.

** When caught in fear and pain

his place of success

what's left?

It means that no one can enter.

4) Dear saints, where are you when life is hard and there is nothing to depend on?

Blessed are the saints who run to the field of

God does not make promises as long as we do His will.

** Look at the Bible! The seniors of faith went into obedience the more they obeyed each other.

Now, there is one thing left for Jacob to receive.

Not this, it is.

In order to become this, there must be.

What did Jacob do while he was there? That's right. What prayers did you pray?

the fact that

can meet when all problems are put down.

5) What did Jacob realize by being?

** I came to realize that Psalm 37:5.

When there is, God does it.

We need to learn how to present our weaknesses before the Lord.

Jacob was not saying there was.

* Although I was alone, I became a man who met God there.

Second, Peniel has to wrestle. (late verse 24 ~ 25)

1) In most cases, when many people pray, they pray to a certain point and then rest.

** Why are you taking a break?

that is. - God doesn't do it even though he's done it this far!

that is. - Prayer is useless and a waste of time.

** In moments of fear and pain, in moments of desperation

That's right.

2) Don't wrestle with people. - The result you get is only .

** Why was Jacob forced to wrestle with God? is asking you to do it.

is asking you to do it. It asks you to take a picture.

But even if we wrestle with God, there are times when we do not receive answers.

There is only one reason - What is it? is.

3) What was Jacob's obsession with? is.

** Why is this a sin? You may be wondering.

Just because it's good doesn't mean it's all good.

Jacob had much to lose in order to gain .

has lost lost has lost has lost

But I got it. I got it all started from wrong.

4) Now, Jacob really wanted to receive God's permission from Bethel.

** This is not a matter of trying.

This is a problem that God has to give. However, God is not a person who can easily give .

Why? God knew well.

,

Jacob? He thinks he can handle everything, and is a resourceful person.

God knew Jacob well.

* Now that Jacob comes to know his true nature, he asks God for a gift, but he knows that he cannot move God's heart with it.

So that's what it did.

5) Have you been to Peniel? Have you been to to change your character and to receive God's gift?

** Why is wrestling with God so important? - What did Jacob gain while wrestling with God?

? It was to subdue Jacob's and .

* It's not because I hate Jacob. - This is to make Jacob do only God.

* Does God wrestle with humans?

- He causes people to submit and do it according to .

- We have to do it with God on special events or dramatic times, but people don't.

Why would you be desperate? Because you can only know when you go to the bottom.

? He struggles to show that human beings are incompetent.

* It is not that God did not overcome and struck down .

- Relying on strength to walk. can't write.

ex) Without a single toe, without a single thumb

* Jacob! - You can live by limping and relying on a cane.

Just like you rely on a stick, you need silver to live.

So you have to wrestle with it.

Third, the place where we face God's face is Peniel. (Verses 30-31)

1) What does it mean to say that life was preserved by confronting

* is different from

by dealing with

He came to realize that the source of all human life does not lie in man's own talents, tricks, or management, but only in the grace of God.

2) Previously, I had lived my life as a person, but now I have decided to live a life of pride rather than a life of pride.

** In the tabernacle - of? It's called the face of GOD.

The word of God is that when you come to know Jesus Christ, you will meet .

people? You can only see it when you meet Jesus, and you will soon be able to face God because of the words of Jesus.

3) What was Jacob's life when he did not face God?

** He thought of God as his life.

I thought of God only in times of need and prayed.

Jacob had not yet learned, known, or realized that life belongs only to God, that there is never any power or salvation.

4) God struck Jacob's hip bone and dislocated it.

* Jacob could never again work hard alone.

He could never trust his own body for success again.

I could never again fight against people and win.

He was no longer able to stand up against the world and its threats with the power of his own flesh.

Is it better to limp and meet God? Do you want to live with healthy legs but not look at ? ** You can meet with Peniel.
