encouraging each other
Hebrews 10:11-25
We humans cannot live alone when we live in this world. So, there are many things we need to live in this harsh world, but we don't know how much we need to look back and encourage each other.
If there is a person who can play an instrument well, he must have gone through many years of hardship and hard work to become such a great musician. Sometimes there is no progress in practice, so I hate to practice, and when I practice I hate it, I keep making mistakes, and sometimes I feel inferior. But behind that, there were my parents and a great teacher, who gave me fresh energy when I was discouraged, and taught me again without getting annoyed if I made a mistake, making me a great musician today.
Most of the people we meet every day live with worries and anxieties, toppling over from adversity and failure, discouraged and down, somewhere between dark despair and excruciating pain. Even if you are a believer in Jesus, you lose balance in your life and slip and slip and fall forward. That's why we need someone who believes in us.
We need someone to convince us and give us strength, someone to pick up the scattered pieces and lift us up to start over, something to motivate us to stay strong in the face of difficulties.
This is encouragement.
When we encourage others, we mean that we inspire, stimulate, and believe in them.
Encouragement includes praise, affirmation, and advice. However, these three have different meanings.
Compliments are acknowledgment of what someone has done. Also, positivity is about the person itself.
The reason compliments come and go for a while is usually because they have something to do with achievement. So affirmation has a much deeper meaning than praise in that sense.
Because it is directly related to the person itself.
Affirmation is acknowledging the person itself. And advice is to make up for what others lack. By the way, encouragement includes all three, and the more precious of the three is affirmation. In order to be praised, you need to be determined to get it by doing something. But affirmation has no such requirement.
This allows us to still be recognized when we don't deserve praise, when we don't succeed in what we do and when we don't achieve our goals.
I believe that there is not one among us who does not need the help of genuine encouragement, even though we may appear to have many influences, stability in our lives, and maturity. This is because any human can easily be driven into difficult 7th pride. So most of us are people who need a lot of encouragement to get us out of our predicament. But we are so arrogant that we seldom admit it.
Most believers think of worship as just singing a few hymns, praying a few times, reading the Bible, listening to the choir's praise, listening to a sermon, and donating. If that's all there is, in fact, faith itself means nothing.
The early church, where Christians first began to gather, was constantly persecuted. There were many cases of martyrdom after believing in Jesus. That is why fear has taken hold of those who believe. Some saints have apostatized. Some saints fled for safety. Therefore, a letter was sent to encourage the saints who were breaking the storm of persecution.
The verse we read today is called Hebrews. I do not know who wrote this Bible, but whoever he was, he must have understood the value of worship.
He warned of moderate compromises on the path of faith, reminding us of the importance of that special time the Saints spend together. That is the text we read.
He said what we have at the beginning of this verse.
In verse 19, we have the confidence to approach God. Also, in verse 21, it says 'we have Christ the priest who brings us near to God. It is easy for us Christians today to forget how wonderful these blessings are. The reason we tend to forget is simple. Because they don't know what it means. But back then, first-century worshipers, where danger was everywhere, lacked self-confidence. They approached God with fear and anxiety.
Their ancestors had never had such a close encounter with our Heavenly Father.
But because Christ opened the way to God the Father through His death on the cross, we can go boldly and confidently.
Why?
Because Jesus Christ is the bridge. Because there is a well paved road. We can have boldness because he became the way to go directly to God the Father.
And the writer of Hebrews explained what we should do.
In today's text, I gave the recommendation to do it three times.
Verse 22 says, ?쏬et us come to God with a true heart and complete faith.??In other words, we must gather close to each other. This is an invitation to get closer to God. When a child of God comes to his father, there is no need to be afraid.
Verse 23 says, 'Let us hold fast the hope of our faith, without being moved.'
These words point to the importance of standing firm on the sure truth of God. In today's language, it means to cling firmly to the truth of God.
Verse 24 says, 'Let's look out for one another and encourage love and good deeds'.
This verse represents the focus of what the writer of Hebrews wants to emphasize in today's text. We must find ways to encourage each other so that we can love each other more deeply and be actively engaged in good works for each other. In a word, the writer of Hebrews is talking about encouragement.
Let's look at what you said today.
?쏯ot as is the habit of some who refrain from meeting together, but encourage them, and all the more as they see the day drawing near??(verse 25).
Worship is not just coming to the chapel, sitting down, listening to the sermon, bowing your head and praying. One of the main purposes of worship is to worship God, and the other is to pay attention to what we need to do to encourage one another. The text does not go into specifics in detail, but just look back and encourage each other??recommended. Because the details are different for each new generation that encounters new and different situations.
So what is encouragement?
Encouragement isn't just a smile and a pat on the back. We must realize how valuable encouragement is.
Encouragement saves the dying. Comfort and encouragement are the only oasis for those who are lost in the desert of failure. Many people shun him and reject him, questioning his character, but when some people constantly visit him and give him hope and will to live, thanks to that encouragement, he can be revived.
Beloved, there are many who wander while walking in this rough world. Many people are exhausted and can no longer walk. There are many who have fallen because of failure. A lot of people are hurt. There are many who have been abandoned.
At such times, who will encourage and encourage them?
It is your encouragement.
How, then, can we encourage love and good deeds in others?
How is that?
In other words, we have to think about how we can hold on to the person who has fallen, lift the person who is drowning, affirmation and support. It's not just something to sit and watch and feel sorry for.
God's commands are not only theoretical. Even more so with orders for those in need.
Let's look at James 2:15-16.
?쏧f a brother or sister is naked and has no daily bread, and any of you say to him, ?쏥o in peace, warm and be satisfied, and do not give him food for his body, what profit does it have???In 1 John 3:17, ?쏻hoever has the goods of this world and sees his brother in need, but stops his heart to help him, and sees how the love of God abides in him???I did.
Gentlemen, the ability to encourage must first be developed in our homes. Young children learn encouragement and competence from their parents in the process of receiving praise and encouragement from their mothers and fathers. Unfortunately, our homes are more negative than positive, more critical than helpful. Do what it takes to develop a spirit of positive, positive and constant encouragement in our homes.
I believe that your home will forever be a home of thanksgiving. And you will be a much happier person too.
Even if you say the same thing, there are people who inflict wounds on other people's hearts, make them lose their pulse, and cause pain. You have to be careful with this lifestyle. If we are not careful and do our best, we can make this mistake without realizing it.
A Christian is no different. It's not about what position you hold in the church, it's about how much you can help others.
Gentlemen, when you find strength in others, do not delay and praise them. Don't be stingy with compliments.
Acknowledge it when you find that your assignment has been well done. And develop a positive and confident attitude. Think and act in this direction. In a climate of negativity and doubt, encouragement cannot bloom.
The church is a place where people gather to encourage each other and live.
When we are going through difficult times, how much strength does it give us to encourage us by our side?
How happy and rewarding is it to see someone come to life?
Dear all!
If a broken heart comes to our church while living in this harsh world, we want to be encouraged and healed. I want the discouraged spirit to come out of me to be encouraged and hopeful. I hope that the soul that has been lost in sin will be encouraged and revived. So, I pray that you will become a church that is blessed by encouragement and a church that is blessed by encouragement, so that it will become a church where people are saved.
