Hebrews 11: 1-3
“Which of you, who wants to build a tower, does not first sit down and estimate the cost to see if what he has is enough to complete it? started and was not able to finish” (Luke 14:28-20).
You can see many people giving up halfway through not living their life of faith. After explaining step by step why we should not give up the Christian life, the Hebrew writer said, "We are not those who retreat and fall into destruction, but those who have faith that saves souls" (10:39). Faith that leads to salvation what kind of belief What else do you believe in?
1. What is faith?
“Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.”
(1) The reality of what we want: Let's take farmers as an example to understand this word. The farmer sows the seeds in the ground. What do you hope for and sow? It is sowing in anticipation of what will be reaped, that is, "reality." Faith is just that.
But where did that belief come from? It is a belief based on personal experience and knowledge. But spiritual faith must be based on the Word of God.
Look at Abraham, the father of faith. He was childless when he was called by God. But God will show you the stars in the sky, and so will your descendants be.” Abraham believed the promise and waited, believing that God is the One who gives life to the dead and calls the things that do not exist as though they were. hoped" (Romans 4:18).
(2) Evidence of things that cannot be seen: In order to confirm existence through our sense organs, our sense organs must first be normal. Also, the object must be within line of sight. Too close to discern, too far to see. Although we cannot see, we confirm our existence through faith. Spiritual things cannot be seen as physical organs. But faith proves what cannot be seen.
Has anyone seen God? No one is here. because? God is spirit (John 4:24), and because he dwells in unapproachable light, no one has seen nor can he see (1 Timothy 6:16).
But when we have eyes of faith, we can see His invisible things, His eternal power and divinity, through all things that He has made (Romans 1:20).
2. Creation Faith
Whether or not you have faith is determined by whether you believe in creation by God or not.
"By faith we know that the whole world was created by the word of God..."
The majority of people in the world accept evolution as truth, downgrading creationism to myth. But people of faith believe in creation to the end.
Creationism is not a myth or superstition as opposed to science. It is the answer to a problem that cannot be solved by evolutionary theory.
Evolutionists say that life arose naturally in the oceans and evolved over many years to form a variety of species. However, it is impossible for living things to occur naturally from non-living things. can't prove it
The Bible clearly states that the Creator created all things according to their kind.
Although we were not in the field of creation, we know by faith. This is because Genesis 1 testifies to that fact in detail.
(1) Eternity of God: Creation faith is a faith that acknowledges the absolute God. We believe that the world was not created by chance, but was created by an absolute being. The fact that the universe is not chaotic, has certain laws, and is in harmony with order indicates that the universe was formed by an intelligent and willed Absolute. The Bible tells us that He is Jehovah, all-powerful, ever-living, righteous, loving, holy, good, and unchanging.
(2) Words of power: His words are power. The whole world was created with the Word. Therefore, all creatures have no choice but to obey the Word. When the Word became flesh and came to this earth, even the wind and the sea obeyed (Matthew 8:26-27).
(3) The value of existence of creation: All things created by the God of wisdom have a value of existence. What may seem insignificant and useless to us is, in fact, certainly worthwhile. That is why God clothed the grass and fed the birds.
(4) The image of God: The Bible teaches that man is created in the image of God.
Those who believe in the theory of evolution equate man and beast. I don't value that personality. However, those who believe in the Creator respect each other because they know that humans are made in the image of God.
* What are our beliefs? It should not be a sensual belief based on experience, but a true faith based on the Word of God.
Let's wait patiently, hoping for the God who made all the world, the living God, who is faithful and keeps His promises. until the Lord comes
