Title Hebrews 11:35-38 A Better Resurrection
Contents Hebrews 11:35-38
On the morning of the resurrection, I pray in the name of the Lord that the great and wonderful grace of the Lord of the victoriously resurrected life overflows to you and your family. Religious leaders at the time of Jesus who were desperate to kill Jesus, and those who enjoyed power and profit under the guise of religion, thought that all their will had been accomplished by killing Jesus, who was a thorn in his eyes. After such thorough persecution and such thorough death, you must have heard a toast thinking that all your troubles over Jesus were over.
Conversely, the faithful crowd, including the disciples who followed Jesus, were not alone in disappointment. In such a vain, useless effort, being betrayed so thoroughly, and subjected to such insults, insults, and shame, the person they trusted and depended on was brutally killed. Now, as to where to go and what to do, and what to cry out for the truth, the disciples were just in a state of dismay.
It is said to have been made in 1815. At that time, Britain and France were at war, and a large-scale naval battle ensued. The British fleet at that time was led by a general. However, at that time, wireless technology was not as developed as it is now, so in order to inform the mainland of the outcome of the naval battle, the sign was decided and marked with smoke from the ship. The whole nation was waiting for the outcome of the naval battle. A wife whose husband went to war, and a parent whose son went to war, all were waiting for the outcome of the war with their hearts pounding. But the sign came from far away from the sea. But that was, "Wellington lost." All of England suddenly became a sea of sorrow. But on the third day, the thick fog lifted and the sign came up from the sea again. But the cause was that "Wellington's forces had destroyed the French." All England, which had been engulfed in sorrow, suddenly had a feast of joy.
Those who crucified Jesus must have rejoiced greatly that they had won. On the other hand, the disciples were greatly disappointed and disappointed, and were worried about the future. But what news have you heard? was that. It was a message that turned sadness into joy, and despair turned into hope. Today, Easter, is the day the world resounded with the news of the victory of Jesus' resurrection.
Where the news of the resurrection of Jesus was preached, the history of true victory continued. Looking at the disciples of Jesus, at first they were gripped by fear. However, after meeting the Lord of the Resurrection and receiving the filling of the Holy Spirit from that Lord, they ran all over the streets of Jerusalem to preach the gospel of the cross and resurrection. The church, which seemed to have been defeated and lost by them, finally grew strong. The Jews imposed stronger sanctions, but they could not stop the church from advancing with the risen Lord.
The apostle Paul was a man named Saul before becoming Paul, but after meeting the resurrected Lord, his life changed 180 degrees. Those who oppose and persecute the Gospel of the Resurrection are now running around the world to preach the Gospel of the Resurrection. How did all these changes come about? It was because of the resurrection of Jesus.
The resurrection of Jesus is a refreshing victory over the eternal power of death. Just like the prophecy of Genesis 3:15, they crushed Satan's head and gained victory. It is the victory of truth that brought all the forces of untruth to their knees. Where the gospel of the resurrection was immediately proclaimed and immediately confessed, a great victory was surely accompanied.
Resurrection faith is amazing. The vitality of Christianity came from this belief in the resurrection. The 2,000-year history of the church was possible because of this resurrection faith.
Today's text shows the victory of faith of the early church members who lived in hardship. Women also received their dead by resurrection. However, there were some who were punished in order to obtain , but were not spared. Hope was the faith of the early church members. Life on this earth is not eternal anyway. Even if you are resurrected with the same body again, your body will get sick again and die again. Lazarus, who had come out of the tomb, also died again, as the daughter of Jairus, and the young man, the son of the widow of Nain, also died again. The resurrection of life on this earth will face the same death again. But the resurrection of Jesus is an eternal resurrection. It is a resurrection that never dies again. So it's a better resurrection. In 1 Corinthians 15, the Bible commonly called, our resurrection is referred to as ?쐓owed in perishable, raised in immortality; sown in dishonor, raised in glory; sown in weakness, raised again in strength; sown in the flesh, raised in the spirit. We live again in one body??(verses 42-43).
The saints who had this hope of resurrection suffered not only harassing and scourging, but also imprisonment, imprisonment, stoning, sawing, temptation, and death by the sword. . They dwelt in the wilderness, in the mountains, in the dark caves, and in the crypts. They were living and lived down where the dead went down. They lived underground and in caves, isn't that the place where the dead are buried? It is said that you can see how miserable their lives were by visiting the underground caves of the catacombs, where the early church members hid and lived their faith. Where could they be? Because there was hope for Pharaoh. It was because of their hope that they were able to praise even though their bodies were being ripped off by the lions in the amphitheater.
was shown by Jesus. As I said at dawn, Jesus' resurrected body was not just a physical rebirth. It was a continuity with the present life, but a distinct discontinuity. The present body is necessarily a body that is subject to the constraints of time and space, and it is a body that is damaged and ill. However, the resurrected body of Jesus was an incorruptible, incorruptible spiritual body. It was a body that could transcend time and space, yet could see, hear, speak and touch. We will be resurrected with that body.
The Bible teaches that when we die, we are resurrected with a better body. These are not words made up by man, but are taught by the Holy Spirit, who became the truth, and Jesus Himself showed and testified.
The church has experienced a history of true victory when it is revived by following this faith. Without this victory over death, the church of today would never exist. On Easter today, we must solidify the hope for this that the early church members had.
Resurrection faith is clearly connected with the future, but it is also closely connected with the present. Resurrection faith exerts influence in the present. Where faith in the resurrection is sure, the true work of Christ's victory is revealed. When an individual's faith is firmly established with the resurrection faith, that person's life of faith changes. When a church is firmly armed with the resurrection faith, the spiritual atmosphere of that church changes. When a nation comes into contact with the resurrection faith, that nation becomes different.
Today, on Easter, I hope that this work of resurrection life will overflow not only in myself, but also in your heart and soul, in your homes and homes, in the church established by the blood of the Lord, and over this nation.
I bless you in the name of the Lord that the hope for
