Title Hebrews 11:8 - 16

Contents Main text: Hebrews 11:8 - 16

*** Obedience by faith (verses 8-10)

These days, people only want to recognize the realities of seeing, hearing, and touching. What they rely on is fax machines, computers, radios and TVs. Also, because they value financial, material, and physical safety above all else, there is no room for God in such a life. Abraham's later inheritance could be his only through his obedience to God. He could give up his safety, his home, or his hometown because he believed in the power of God who created the world and that he is the God who controls the future. where is my heart The Lord said that where your treasure is, there your heart will be. Does your heart belong to the earth? Or do you belong to heaven?

*** Relying on the Word (verses 11-12)

One person's faith changed the entire course of history. Even if my circumstances make it difficult to obey God, God tells me to rely on Him. God's power to change history is not limited to one person. He can change the course of my life and the generations to come if I hold on to Him with His Word and obey Him completely. If my marriage is not going well, my health is poor, my job is very heavy, and I no longer want to go to church, I will be very distressed. Even if it is difficult to believe that God can change all of these things, we must put our hands of faith in the faithful power of God who performed miracles that I could not have imagined.

*** Where to look (verses 13-14)

He prayed for the disciples whom Jesus left on this earth to spread the gospel of the kingdom. Jesus said that they are not of this world, just as they are not of this world. They were people who made a living by fishing, renting, or other occupations. When they followed Jesus, their feet were dusty and their bodies were weary. Today our minds can be filled with many thoughts and our hands can buy and sell things, make things, cook, write, and do many other kinds of things. But what can change me is the conviction that I am a stranger in this world and a citizen in the world to come. What aspects of my life can show the people of this world that I am a stranger who desires the kingdom of heaven?

*** A Better Home (verses 15-16)

Some Christians today teach that if we believe in God, we can live rich, saying that God intended us to be rich, healthy, and enjoy the blessings of heaven on earth. But God never promised deliverance from poverty or suffering. However, He promised the grace to overcome those difficult obstacles and overcome them, and to taste the glory He had prepared in heaven for me in advance. I often see people in this world envious of those who have become rich by making money and prospering. But true Christians do a lot of worldly things for the Lord.

You must give up.
