The first is the fact that the beginning is important, but the end is more important. "Come on the word of God to you, think of those who were leading you, and watch the end of our deeds..." The end of our deeds is translated as 'the outcome of their lives' in the English Bible. It can be interpreted as the fruit of their life, the result of their life, and the legacy of their life. The fruits and legacy of a person's life are left behind at the end.
What do you want to leave as the last fruits of your life? The answer to this will be different for everyone. I want to leave people behind. In particular, I want to leave many people of God, disciples of the Lord.
Second, Hebrews 13:7 continues like this. “…watch the end of our conduct and imitate our faith.” Christians are to exercise spiritual leadership in this world whether they like it or not. Leadership expert Reverend John Maxwell defines leadership in one word: “Leadership is influence.” God wants us as children to exert a good influence on the world. But that influence comes from a life example that people can imitate. If about one in the world who does not know God reads the Bible and comes to know God, 99 people will come to know God by seeing the good deeds of people of faith. People are interested in who God is by looking at the Christian life. We are to be the fragrance of Christ (2 Corinthians 2:15) and the letter of Christ (2 Corinthians 3:3). Only then will we be able to restore Trust Based Leadership.
There are many models of good faith and many models of leadership in this world that we should imitate. But we need to re-evaluate the fact that for us Christians, there is only one absolute model of faith and life, Jesus Christ.
The years are passing as fast as the years. Only work for Christ will last forever. I pray that the end of life will be more beautiful by following Jesus, who is the eternal model of our lives.
