Tears (Hebrews 5:7-10)
First, there are several types of people who have had fun in tears in the Bible.
First, there are tears that save lives. Genesis 21:16 "They said, "I will not be able to put up with the death of my child." So he went to about a foot of flesh, sat down next to him, looked at him, and wept and cried. God heard the boy's voice, and an angel of God called Hagar from heaven and said, "Hagar, what Do not be afraid, because God has heard the voice of the boy over there. 19 God opened Hagar's eyes, and saw a spring of water, and went and filled the skin with water, and gave the boy a drink.' Ishmael and Hagar faced each other. I groaned and cried. At that time, God saw the child's tears and gave him water, and He opened her mother's eyes so that she could see the spring. I hope you all realize that the answers God gives us are always within our reach.
The second tear is the tear from which the disease is cured. 2 Kings 20:2 “Hezekiah turned his face to the wall and prayed to the Lord, saying, “O Lord, I beg you, remember that I have walked before you in truth and with all my heart and have done what is good in your sight.” Say to Hezekiah, the ruler of my people, This is what the LORD, the God of David your father, says: I have heard your prayer and seen your tears, and I will heal you...' You add . The medicine he used then crushed the fig tree and put it on the wound, and it just healed. I pray in the name of the Lord that you come before God when you are sick and pray with tears in your eyes.
The third prayer answer is right in my tears. Tears are the secret of answering prayers. When Jacob goes to his maternal uncle Laban's house to receive the blessing and returns home, when his older brother Esau brings 400 men to kill, Jacob prays before God. So we thought that we had prayed and received an answer. Then, in Hosea 12:3, we read, “... In my old age, I struggled with God for strength, and I struggled with an angel for strength, and I won and wept and made supplications to him…” How did you pray? You can see that I prayed while crying. Even if Hezekiah seems to be just getting better, please listen to the prayer. “Remember that I have served the Lord with all my heart and that I have acted honestly, and save me. I cry so much. Jacob didn't just weep. ‘I pray that you will remember that I lived according to the will of the Lord without opening my eyes for 20 years and that I would live.’ Your life doesn't change today, can you just cry? No. I hope you do good things in the sight of God.
Fourth, there are tears of salvation for the nation. These are the tears of Esther, the tears of Jeremiah, the tears of Ezekiel, the tears of Moses. The tears they shed while looking at the nation, looking at the perishing and dying nation, save the nation. To be a Christian should have tears shed for the world. Seeing their tears, God saves the nation.
Fifth, there are tears shed for first-class salvation. These are the tears our Jesus shed in the text. This world is a place where even the Son of God, Jesus Christ, wept and wept. In John 16:33, “...in the world you will have tribulation, but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.” In that tribulation, there are times when we have no choice but to weep. Often people have a very bad habit of blaming God unconditionally when something unfair or great happens in life. God doesn't care... how could such a thing happen if God exists? It's because you don't know the world. In this world, we need to know that not only God is alive, but there is also a person called the devil. You must know that the king is the devil in this world.
Second, there are three types of tears we usually shed.
First, there are tears of repentance. If there is a person in the Bible who shed the most tears of repentance, I would like to pick David as the number one. Psalm 6:6 says: ‘I am weary from groaning, and every night I make my bed with tears and wet my mattress. This is an expression of his feelings that David wept so much. You, David, is wonderful not because he did not sin, but because he shed more tears of repentance than anyone else. As much as David was troubled over his transgressions and sins, Psalm 32 sheds tears and repentance. Even Peter, after denying that he did not know the Lord three times, repents with intense weeping tears. In Isaiah 1:18 we read, “Come, let us argue with one another, says the Lord, “Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; they shall be red as crimson, and they shall be like wool.” I pray in the name of the Lord that you will come before the love of the Lord who forgives you even seven times and be forgiven.
The second tear is an expression of supplication, a prayer of supplication. It was said that Jesus also prayed with tears to God, who was able to deliver him from death, and offered salvation. All the people of faith in the Bible were people who prayed for God with tears. Think about it, if Moses had not prayed with tears for the nation, if the Apostle Paul had not prayed with tears for his own people, if David, Jacob, Peter, and Jeremiah had no tears, how would you and your country be? Could it have been? If there is one very important weapon by which humans can overcome God, it is prayer of tears. I pray in the name of the Lord that you pray before God with your tears and receive an answer.
The third tear is the tears of atonement. You'll have to go this far. Tears shed for others, not for self. The tears that the Lord shed now were the tears of atonement that saved us mankind. Because of the Lord's suffering, we were saved, and because of the Lord's tears, we can laugh with the thrill and joy of salvation. Tears shed for others, this is God's work, and this is Christianity.
If you don't cry today, won't the people who should be saved because of you won't be saved? So what does the apostle Paul say? Even if I preach the gospel, what do you mean? Even if I weep for others, is it not inevitable that I have nothing to boast about? I pray in the name of the Lord that we too can weep for others. let's pray
