need to prepare
(Hebrews 9:27)
“It is appointed for man to die once.
And after that comes judgment."
Life is one way to die.
Even the iron wall has no choice but to collapse someday, so how can the body of life not collapse? Even lumps of rocks are crushed and turned into sand, how can life not be crushed? Even a piece of iron rusts, how can this weak flesh and bone not rust?
The Bible is saying.
"There is a time to die" (Ecclesiastes 3:2)
“All blood shall perish, and man shall return to the dust” (Job 34:15).
“It is appointed for man to die once” (Hebrews 9:27).
Even now on this planet, 2 people die every second for one reason or another. 120 people per minute, 7,200 people per hour, about 170,300 people die per day, about 1.2 million people per week, about 5.19 million people per month, or about half of Seoul's population, about 62.2 million people per year Soon a person almost equal to the population of our country will die.
Death doesn't just happen at night. It is in the morning and also in the daytime. Death has no holidays. Death is not confined to battlefields or hospitals. At home, in the mountains, in the sea, in the streets. Death doesn't just happen in war. Even in times of peace.
"It is appointed once to die" (Hebrews 9:27) - This is the truth. It cannot be avoided. Who can escape death? Death comes even though death is never taught or taught. Death makes you die even if you haven't practiced it. The great Russian writer Lev Nikolaivic Tolstoy said about death, "Death awaits all of us. Nothing is as certain as this death." If death is so certain to life, the wise thing we should do is "to be prepared." Avoiding responsibility for preparing for death is not wise. People tend to forget about death. Oblivion. It's better to just forget about it and not think about death, and just live in one world as it is. Some people think that death is not a big deal, even though everyone dies. It's sad if only I die, but it's not a big deal since everyone dies.
A famous American singer once said, "I don't think of death because it hurts and I can't help it." But think about it. Does not thinking solve the problem of death? Or can it be avoided? Not both. That's right. If the Bible presents the issue of death, we must accept it as our own. And we must prepare for death by obeying the teachings of the Bible on this matter. This man is a wise man. Regarding death, "Everyone dies." "Death is inevitable." It is knowledge to know that "I will die too". But preparing for death is wisdom.
All normal people live their lives preparing in advance for everything. A person who prepares and lives is a wise person. A farmer who will do annual farming is still busy in the middle of the day, and in the garden behind the village the snow from last winter has not yet melted, yet he is busy preparing for farming. A housewife who is about to have a big job in the house prepares all the tools and things to use for the big job in advance. A wise housewife. Students who want to sleep with dreams do not get enough sleep and prepare for college in advance. A wise student. Climbers wishing to conquer high mountain peaks prepare months or years in advance before climbing the mountain. A wise climber. Athletes with the ambition to win an Olympic gold medal prepare for the rest of their lives. Prepare in advance. A wise athlete. The bride and groom prepare their bodies and minds in advance for marriage and a new family. A wise bride and groom.
There are very few things in life that don't require preparation for everything and every event in life. So the one who prepares is a wise person. This is because, if you are not prepared, you may face embarrassment, and you may experience great damage or disappointment. That's right. Preparation is important. But here is the most important preparation for life. For a farmer, more than farming, more than preparation of a housewife for a big job, more than preparation of a student for college entrance exam, more than preparation of a climber ahead of conquering a high mountain, more than preparation of an athlete before the Olympics, marriage There are more important preparations than the preparations of the bride and groom before the wedding. It's ready to die. But the unfortunate fact is that people are neglecting this preparation. A person who prepares ahead of time is wise, but a person who prepares for death is the wisest person. That's right. We must prepare to die.
Why should I prepare to die?
First, because life must die.
Second, because death comes suddenly and without warning.
Third, because death is the last event of my life. After death, there is no opportunity to prepare.
Fourth, because after death there is life in the afterlife.
