25 But I think it is necessary to send Epaphroditus to you, who is my brother, who labors with you and a soldier with you, and your messenger and helper for my needs. 26 He longs for you all and knows that you have heard of his illness 27He was sick and was about to die, but God had mercy on him, and he had mercy on me as well as on me, and he relieved me of my sorrow over my sorrow. 29 For this reason, welcome him in the Lord with all joy, and honor such ones. 30 It is your service to me that, when he died for the cause of Christ, he did not regard his own life. to fill the void in
1. Words that begin
There are many people who want to become a church, society, state, or mayor, but if there is no one who wants to be a helper, serious problems are bound to arise. When there are more people who want to be helpers than those who want to become leaders, a church, society, or country can revive and develop.
The first black Obama in American history was elected as a result of the US presidential election that had a powerful influence on the world. He became president not only because of his own qualities and efforts, but rather because of the advice and advice, hard work and effort of his outstanding assistants. One of the factors that made an outstanding person great was that they had helpers no less than that. One of the factors that made the apostle Paul, who left the greatest achievements in the history of Christianity such a person, was because he had excellent helpers. The Apostle Paul had helpers ready to help anytime, anywhere, and in any situation. Among those helpers was Epaphroditus.
2. Paul's helper, Epaphroditus
There are some who speak and act worthy of the names of dictators, thieves, and crooks, far from living up to their names, among rulers, magistrates, civil servants, and leaders in their fields. We do not know how many believers are hurt and the door of evangelism is blocked because some leaders in the religious world have spoken and acted inappropriately for their name.
We ask that all of us live with words and deeds that are worthy of the name of the church member or position.
Epaphroditus, who is kind, kind, and charming even as a man of faith, has been sent from the Philippian church to take care of the apostle Paul in prison, who may be put to death. He acted as a helper for the apostle Paul to the extent that the apostle Paul highly praised him. How many people compliment is important, but who's compliment is more important? The apostle Paul, one of the greatest figures in Christian history, praised Epaphroditus supremely.
First, they praised him as a brother of faith, a co-worker in the gospel, and a comrade fighting the enemies of the gospel. As J. B. Lightfoot commented, “They share the same feelings, the same work, the same danger, the same toil, and the same pain.”
Second, he praised him as a messenger sent by the Philippian church, helping him to spend in prison. Epaphroditus delivered to Paul the money that the Philippian church had donated for the apostle Paul, and he also served with all his heart. He served the Apostle Paul to the point of death.
3. Epabrodido who received the grace of divine healing
Apostle Paul, who was lonely and difficult because of the gospel of Christ, was imprisoned in Rome and felt that his helper, Epaphroditus, was a great strength and comfort, but he needed to send him back to the Philippi church. The reason is that Epaphroditus longed for the Philippians. Epabrodido's heart never forgot his responsibility in the church. Another reason was that when the Philippians learned that Epaphroditus was ill to death, they were very worried. Epaphroditus was more deeply concerned about the Philippians who were concerned about him than his own deathly disease.
Although the name of Epabrodido was not clearly described, his condition was very serious. C. R. Erdman said, “Perhaps the long journey from Macedonia, the living conditions in Rome, and the overwork of ministering to Paul, etc., weakened the messenger from Philippi and made him fall ill with this terrible disease.”
Considering that people's worries are usually caused by unhappiness, selfish plans, or the unfulfillment of sinful desires, you can't tell how beautiful their sorrows for each other are.
4. Epaphroditus, who will be honored and accepted
There are many people with strong self-esteem, but few with respect. We must honor ourselves by loving according to the Word in the Lord, following the Holy Spirit, rather than showing our pride.
Why should Epabrodido, a helper, be welcomed and respected as a great person? The Apostle Paul explained, “Even when he died for the service of Christ, he did not look to his life, so that the lack of your work in serving me might be filled.”
5. Conclusion
There are many people who want to become a church, society, state, or mayor, but if there is no one who wants to be a helper, serious problems are bound to arise. A community can revive and develop only when there are more people who want to be helpers to help them live and work as chiefs rather than those who want to become chiefs. A helper among helpers is to become a helper of God's messenger. God grants special grace to such helpers, and considers them a noble person so that they are welcomed by church members and others.
