Title Holy Spirit and Pentecost

Content br> 40 days after Jesus was resurrected, He ascended into heaven. The first day of Pentecost after Jesus ascended into heaven was a special day. This day was not special in the Old Testament sense of the Jewish people. This day was special because it was the first day the Holy Spirit came down. This day will be the most important day in all history, along with the days of Jesus' first coming, death, resurrection, ascension, and second coming.

According to the Bible, on this day, the first coming of the Holy Spirit, there were three supernatural miracles where about one hundred and twenty saints were gathered together with Jesus' disciples.

First, suddenly there was a sound like the sound of a rushing, strong wind, and the place where they were gathered was full.

Second, a fissure like tongues of fire appeared to the people there, and he rested upon them.

Third, all the people there were filled with the Holy Spirit and spoke in different tongues (foreign languages) as the Holy Spirit allowed them to speak.

To sum up these three phenomena, they are "the sound of a rushing and strong wind", "the fissure of tongues of fire" and "different dialects".

These three phenomena that happened that day cannot but be astonishing. Because it was a supernatural target event that people could not even think of. Today is truly a precious day. Because it was the first day the Holy Spirit came down.

But the sad fact is that today's events are being abused. The events of this day, that is, the coming of the Holy Spirit, are manipulated and used by Pentecostals, miracles, and tonguesists as a tool to deceive the soul. They add prophecies, dreams, and visions to this by combining the prophecies of Acts 2:16-18, the book of Joel quoted by Peter, to create and claim a strange doctrine.

Those strange doctrines are claims made by relating the Holy Spirit to visible and physical signs. For example, "to experience the filling of the Holy Spirit, like the disciples and the saints on the day of Pentecost in the early church, we must gather in a special place to pray earnestly for a certain period of time and wait for the Holy Spirit to come", "The Holy Spirit must come with supernatural phenomena" “In order to receive the Holy Spirit, we must receive fire,” “The evidence of receiving the Holy Spirit is to experience miracles such as dreams, prophecies, visions, tongues, and mouths”, “The signs that occurred in the days of the apostles can be the same today”, etc. is.

These claims seem plausible, consistent with the Bible, and great. But in reality it is not. They misunderstood the Bible. You are misinterpreting the Bible. They have misfocused their souls. In the end, they are acting strangely on this false doctrine, deceiving countless souls and leading them to a wrong path that deviates from the path of the Gospel.

We will first look at the background of the events of Pentecost in order to understand them.

First, the event of Pentecost, that is, the coming of the Holy Spirit, is the fulfillment of the prophecy of the Old Testament Joel. The prophet Joel prophesied the facts that would be in the end according to God's revelation. One of those prophecies is the prophecy that the Holy Spirit will be sent in the last days.

“Afterward I will pour out my Spirit on all flesh, and your sons and daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions” (Joel 2:28).

On the day of Pentecost, right after the descent of the Holy Spirit, Peter quotes the prophecy of this book of Joel and preaches. The central content of the Word is that this event is the fulfillment of the prophecy in the book of Joel that God spoke of.

“Peter stood with the eleven and lifted up his voice, saying, ‘Jews and all who live in Jerusalem, let this be known to you, and give ear to me; for the third hour is the third hour, and these men are not drunk as you think. This was spoken by the prophet Joel, saying, “In the last days, saith God, I will pour out my Spirit upon all flesh, and your children shall prophesy, your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams. I will pour on my male and female servants, and they will prophesy, and I will give wonders in heaven above, and signs on the earth below: blood and fire and smoke, before the great and glorious day of the Lord comes, the sun will be turned into darkness, and the moon will change. blood" (Acts 2:14-20)

When Jesus was on this earth, he foretold the coming of the Holy Spirit several times before he ascended into heaven.

“I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Comforter, that he may be with you forever” (John 14:16).

“The Counselor, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, he will teach you all things and will remind you of all that I have said to you” (John 14:26).

Not only did Jesus promise to send the Holy Spirit after He ascended into heaven, but He also told His disciples that they would not leave Jerusalem until the Holy Spirit came and that they would stay in Jerusalem.

“Behold, I am sending you what my Father promised, so stay in this city until you are clothed with power from on high” (Luke 24:49).

“They gathered together with the apostles and commanded them, saying, ‘Do not leave Jerusalem, but wait for the promise of the Father, which you have heard from me.’ John baptized with water, but in a few days you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit.” (Acts) 1:4-5)

The reason that about one hundred and twenty disciples and other members of the early church did not leave Jerusalem and stayed in Jerusalem was because of the words Jesus Himself gave them, not for any other reason. After all, the Holy Spirit came upon them on the day of Pentecost.

Therefore, the meaning of the Pentecost event can be summarized as follows.

First, the event of Pentecost is the fulfillment of the Old Testament Joel prophecy. This is because the prophecies of God's Word must be fulfilled.

Second, the event of Pentecost is the fulfillment of Jesus' words about the Holy Spirit. Because the words of Jesus come true as they are. Jesus is not a liar.

Third, the Pentecost event marks the beginning of the Holy Spirit's public work.

Fourth, the incident of Pentecost was the public manifestation of the work of evangelism, the work of the Holy Spirit for the salvation of souls.

Fifth, the incident of Pentecost testifies that the Holy Spirit dwells with us now.

Sixth, the incident of Pentecost proves that the last days have already begun.

The meaning of the Pentecost event is not a supernatural event that happened that day. In other words, the meaning of the Pentecost event is not the signs and signs themselves, such as rapid and strong winds, tongues of fire, speaking in foreign languages, prophecies, visions, dreams, and healings.

These visible phenomena that occurred on the day the Holy Spirit came down are one-off events in the entire history of the church, and are not repeated countless times whenever the Holy Spirit comes upon a person, that is, each time he receives the Holy Spirit or is filled with the Holy Spirit.

Because the disciples who were in the field at the time of the coming of the Holy Spirit on the day of Pentecost have never experienced the same visible phenomenon after this event. Nor has he ever tried to experience the same thing twice or thrice. In addition, the Bible never tells us to gather at a special place or wait for a certain period of time to receive the Holy Spirit or experience the Holy Spirit after the Pentecost event.

The Bible never said that visible phenomena such as strong winds, fire, tongues, prophecies, visions, dreams, healings, falls, bizarre laughter, congratulatory messages, crowing of animals, trembling, mouth and mouth, etc. There is not. Rather, the Bible says that those who have received the Holy Spirit and are filled with the Holy Spirit will bear the fruits of the Holy Spirit: love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness (mercy), goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.

The Pentecost event is a one-time sufficiency Because the words of God the Father in the Old Testament book of Joel and the words of God the Son, that is, Jesus concerning the Holy Spirit, were fulfilled with a single incident on the Day of Pentecost. The covenant was completely fulfilled, so why should there be another Pentecost event? Will the Holy Spirit come again? The Holy Spirit has been with us for eternity by coming once, so why should the same phenomenon happen again? The Holy Spirit twice, three times, four times… It's not about coming in countless times.

“I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Comforter, that he may be with you forever” (John 14:16).

The visible supernatural event of the Pentecost event is the same as the one visible supernatural event that occurred when Jesus was baptized by John the Baptist before beginning his public ministry as the Messiah. There is only one incident of the virgin birth of Mary. There is only one event on the Mount of Change. The creation event, Elijah's ascension of the fire chariot, Elijah's Mount Carmel, Paul's three-story heaven, Jesus' first coming, Jesus' resurrection, and Jesus' ascension are only once. Although all these events were given in the age of revelation, when God gave revelation, performed miracles to give revelation, and worked, the parties to the event did not intend to perform or experience it twice or thrice. Because God's will was accomplished only once.

The will of God was fulfilled by Jesus coming once in the flesh. So He doesn't have to come back in the flesh twice or three times. The same is true of the resurrection of Jesus. God's will was fulfilled by Jesus' single resurrection, so why does Jesus need to be resurrected twice or three times?

On the first day of Pentecost after Jesus ascended into heaven, the Holy Spirit came to us in a visible and supernatural way. With his one coming, God's will was accomplished. The Holy Spirit twice, three times... You don't have to come back any more.

Satan's great deception has already begun.

Satan uses the words recorded in the Bible to deceive souls. Look at Satan's technique using the words of the Bible when he tempted Jesus. It is still the same today. Satan misinterprets the Bible by adding, subtracting, concealing, or exaggerating the words written in the Bible, and creates his own false teachings (doctrine). And it is to deceive souls with that doctrine. One or two souls?/td>
