Title How to Serve God/Hebrews 11:6

Contents

Without faith it is impossible to please him, for he who comes to God must believe that he hath made, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently diligently seek him.

Introduction

What we want to receive grace today is how to serve God properly as our believers who believe in God do. Even though we want to believe in God and serve God properly, we do not know how to properly understand Him, so there are many cases where we go a different path regardless of God's will. So today, let's take a closer look at the Bible and look at the right way to serve God and the blessings we will receive as a result.

Earth 1: How to serve God?

We must serve by faith.

Hebrews 11:6 says, "He who comes to God must believe that He exists, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him." Therefore, we must serve God with faith. Even among people, if there is no trust between each other, we will not give up our hearts. Therefore, when we come before God, we must have faith.

You must serve with all your heart.

In Matthew 22:37, the Lord said, “Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.” As this verse says, when we serve God, we must serve with all our heart, mind, and devotion. We must give our hearts 100%. In the Old Testament, people were even rebuked that they wished there was someone who would bring blind sacrifices and shut the doors of the temple by offering them (Mal. 1:10).

Do not believe in the nations, but depend on and serve only God.

If you look at the Bible, you can see cases where the people of Israel believed in God well, but they depended more on the Gentile nations of Egypt than on God or on military power. Isaiah 30:1 testifies, "They went down into Egypt to be strong in Pharaoh's power, and to flee from the shadow of Egypt." In other words, they are rebuking the foolishness of trying to rely on the power of Egypt instead of relying on God. But what was the result? “The power of Pharaoh will be your shame, and refuge in the shadow of Egypt will be your disgrace” (Isaiah 30:3) It is said that all nations that receive power or help will perish (Isaiah 31:1-3).

Among the kings of Israel, King Asa also believed in God well at first, and God blessed him and made him rich. However, he fell into arrogance thinking that it was his own strength, and the disease occurred, but he eventually died because he did not seek God and depended on medical techniques (2 Chronicles 16:12-13). Also, King Hezekiah was momentarily arrogant and showed all of the royal court's armor and treasury to the Babylonian envoys, so all these things were transferred to Babylon (2 Kings 18:12-21). This was a result of pride in wanting to show off his achievements to people for a moment.

What we can learn from this is that we should serve God, never believe in the powers of strangers or people, and depend entirely on God alone.

Earth 2: Blessings to those who serve God

He makes you a friend of God.

In Genesis 18:17-19, we can see the scene where God was telling Abraham about the destruction of the city of Sodom and Gomorrah in advance. Indeed, when Abraham served God with all his heart and believed and acted only on the word of God, God did not hide His plans and told Abraham everything. This is because God made Abraham his friend, so he gave him all the secrets (James 2:23-'God's friend', Isaiah 41:8-'My friend Abraham', 2 Chronicles 20:7-' 'Abraham, your friend'). As a result, God saved his nephew Lot 'for the sake of Abraham' (Genesis 19:20). Likewise, in our daily life, no matter how hard we struggle and struggle to live well, if God thinks about it, all problems will be solved.

He gives you riches, but not with sorrow.

People think that they have achieved wealth and fame through their own strength and power, but God clearly states in Deuteronomy 8:17-18, "Remember the LORD your God, for he has given you the ability to obtain wealth." We have money because God has given us health and talent to earn money. However, people can't solve their worries even when they get a lot of material. It is the principle of the world that the more you have, the more your worries will increase. However, it is said in Proverbs 10:22 that He gives blessings to the people who serve God, but makes people rich and does not add sorrow to them. Therefore, money earned without God is troublesome, but money earned in God is painless.

conclusion

In order to serve God properly, we must believe only in the power of God, with all our faith, with all our heart, and without relying on the power of strangers or people. In this way, God makes us his friends and gives us great blessings to those who serve God's will and rightly according to His will.
