Title: How to Win - 4 Text: 1 Timothy 6:12
Question - Beloved, I have Jesus, the God, in me, the Holy Spirit is in me, I prayed in tongues, I received a gift, and I worship every week. Why do most of the believers experience defeat in their faith life? would it?
Although the Bible, the Word of God, always promises us a victorious life and guarantees victory, why is our reality not? - If you listen to today's sermon, you will understand the reasons.
When your faith is shaken, your faith life seems to have failed, and your life seems to have failed, how can you gain victory?
The first step is to stand firm - realizing that all the calamities and sufferings you have been through or are going through right now are from Satan.
There is a saying that ‘the first button is important’. - If you don't sew the first button wrong when you put on a shirt or heater, you'll end up stitching the bottom wrong. - The first step is also the most important on how to win.
In particular, knowledge that is completely different from the Bible has been input, so it is the most difficult to change it. - When you hear a sermon, you can empathize and say, 'Oh, that's right,' but when you face a real problem, you quickly become caught up in old knowledge and lose to the devil.
Written by a famous columnist during the Korean War - 'I'm not asking you to be a Christian. That's not to say I'm an atheist or a skeptic. Atheists say there is no God. The skeptic says that maybe there is a God, but he cannot know that.
But I believe that God exists. I don't believe it all just happened by chance. The reason I'm not a Christian is because the sermons I've heard get in the way. They (the preachers) say that God manages everything. If so, then God must be making the world a mess.’
The columnist went on to mention wars, bombings, millions of children being killed, poverty and disease (AIDS) that make the world unhappy. - 'I believe there is a divine being somewhere. And I believe that the things he made are beautiful and good. I cannot believe that God made these things.’
That's right. These things were created after the fall of Adam, when the devil became the god of this world (2 Corinthians 4:4). Many of the laws that govern the earth today were created after Adam sinned and the curse came upon the earth.
Because people don't understand this - they blame God for all kinds of accidents, sicknesses, death of loved ones, catastrophes, earthquakes, floods, etc. Even insurance companies call these "acts of God."
Beloved, I tell you clearly. They are not God's work. All the devil's work. - Let me prove it with two stories. - Disciples - They met a storm while crossing the Sea of Galilee - Jesus rebuked them and calmed them. Is it clear?
If God had caused the storm, Jesus was rebuking what God had done. - It can't be. It's not even theoretically correct. Jesus rebuked the storm caused by the devil.
The Bible also tells us that when the devil is forever removed from this world - when he is thrown into the abyss - anything that hurts or destroys will disappear from this world.
If evil comes from God, we will have to keep it after Satan is destroyed. It can't be. - Now it's clear where all the scars and destruction came from.
Why did God have to become a man and come to this world? - The answer is found in 1 John 3:8. “The Son of God appeared to destroy the works of the devil.”
On Sunday, I was getting ready to go to church, but suddenly the child was crying. suddenly sick Suddenly, a call came in saying that a guest was coming. Suddenly, a couple quarrels. Suddenly, an urgent problem arose. - I was going to pray, but suddenly a problem arose. - There is the opposite. There are obstacles - it's all the devil's work
But the problem is that we can't stand firm. - Isaiah 7:9 "If you do not believe, you will not be able to stand." - Sh) If your faith is not strong, you will never stand upright. - Hyun) If you do not believe, you will not survive. - People who drifted away from the faith because they did not firmly believe
An effective secret to firmly believing and standing firm - Going to the second step - The second step to gaining victory when your faith is shaken and seeming to be defeated is when we have something we want to ask of God, and God's promises related to it, that is, the Bible verse It is to find the - and hold on to the Word and ask for it.
Isaiah 55:10,11 “As rain and snow come down from heaven, and do not go there again, to water the land and cause it to sprout and produce fruit, to give seed to the sower and bread to the eater, so my mouth The words that go out from Esau will not return to me in vain; they will accomplish my will, and prosper in the work for which I sent them.”
These words are the most important element in the prayer life of the saints. This is a word to keep in mind whenever you pray. - No word that goes out of the mouth of God returns to God in vain.
Beloved, therefore, if you believe in God and want to pray, first make sure that it is based on the promises of the Bible. If God promises anything, whatever you ask will be done.
When our faith is shaken and we feel defeated, the third step in gaining victory is to be careful not to live in sin the one we do repeatedly.
Beloved, sin is the greatest obstacle to faith. If we have sins such as unbelief, disobedience, sexual immorality, or the root of bitterness, that is, an unforgiving heart, our faith will not work, and our prayers will not be answered.
In the words of John Wesley, the founder of Methodism - 'Just as a little dust makes a clock break and a grain of sand invisible to our eyes, so the very little grain of sin in our hearts will stop us from reaching God.' - Repent immediately.
When your faith is shaken and you feel defeated, the fourth secret to victory is to keep distrust and doubt from entering your life.
Beloved, do not allow any doubt or disbelief into your life when it comes to the Word of God. Trust what the Bible tells us to be.
Today's text - 1 Timothy 6:12 "Fight the good fight of faith" - Beloved, living by faith is not so easy. The Bible clearly says, "Fight the good fight of faith." - Those who misunderstand this verse there are many
He hears only the word ‘fight’ and starts fighting immediately. - But the subject is the problem. - First of all, not the subject of a fight - It is not about fighting other churches or other Christians. - It's not even about fighting the unbelievers. - Everything is love. - Love your enemies too.
It's not about fighting the devil. - Some pastor or saints - We will fight the devil. - If we fight Satan, can we win? can't win - Can we fight or not? - Can not be done. - No need to fight. - Because Jesus had already defeated him on the cross. - You just have to fight it.
Some say - 'I will fight sin'. - This also stems from ignorance. - Sermon a few weeks ago - Because Jesus took away all sin on the cross, we no longer have to fight sin.
1 John 3:5 “You know that he appeared to take away our sins, and in him is without sin” - by what? - By blood, by the cross - Now we have no problem of sin. - There is only the sinner's problem. - Bringing a sinner to Jesus will solve his sin problem.
So what kind of fight do we have to fight? - "We must fight the good fight of faith" - Notice the word 'good'. - The fact is that the Bible does not say to ‘fight the evil fight of faith’ or ‘fight the evil fight of faith.
To explain this, let us turn to Number 14. - 2 million Israelites who left Egypt - Arrive at a place called Kadesh-Barnea - 12 spies sent - 10 reports - Num 13:32,33 “There were giants in the land, and in their eyes we must have looked like grasshoppers. , we cannot have the land.”
The Bible refers to their reports as “evil reports.” This was an unbelievable report. - On the other hand, the other two spies, Caleb and Joshua, came with a good report. - 'The giant is there, of course' - They do not deny the fact. - The report of faith is not a denial of facts.
“Of course we were like grasshoppers in their eyes. - But - our God has the power to put them into our hands. Come on, let's go up and take possession of the land.” - Faith always brings good reports like this.
Let's go back to 1 Timothy 6. - "Fight the good fight of faith" - It means 'fight to keep good reports by faith'. - Maintaining a good report is never easy. But we have to keep a good report, and only keeping a good report will bring us victory.
‘How have you been?’ ‘How have you been all night?’ - Most report the same as 10 spies. - Report like two spies - Fight the good fight of faith - even when defeat seems certain, when our faith seems weak and we can't win - Fight the good fight of faith. - Fight to keep good reports.
Don't tell people what your condition is. Don't tell me my body hurts here and there. Fight so that you don't say that it won't go well because it's full of problems.
‘How are you?’ - ‘Yes, praise God. God is on my side. He who is in me is greater than he who is in the world. Jesus bore my infirmities and bore my sickness.’
Beloved, everything on this earth is negatively programmed. - Newspapers, TV, Internet, etc. - Good news is rarely reported. - Incumbent teachers in their 40s committed suicide, commuter bus overturned, large forest fires, plane crashes, suicide bombings, swine flu, cargo solidarity strike, Kaesong Industrial Complex closure crisis, etc.
Also, someone is appointed to a certain position in the government - a minister, the chief of the Blue House, etc., someone elected to a member of the National Assembly or mayor through an election - Then, at the same time as the article, it reports what he did wrong.
No one knows what they did well because what they did well is rarely reported. - Also focus on only the reasons that make them think the tasks of the job will be difficult to solve. - President Lee Myung-bak, President Roh Moo-hyun
Beloved, Satan is the god of this world. Satan is a negative god. So everything in this world is basically negative. - Although we live in this world, we are not of this world. So we have to get out of the negative and come to the positive.
This is never easy. That's why the Bible says, "Fight the good fight of faith." - You have to combat numerous negative reports. - You have to fight with yourself. - Innate temperament, hardened mindset, physical body.
Resist the devil - Doubt, fear - Reject - James 4:7 “Oppose the devil, and he will flee from you” - 2 Timothy 1:7 “God has not given us a spirit of fear, but power, love and self-control. is the heart (spirit)
I am a man of faith. I refuse to doubt. I refuse to be afraid. My faith works. I always give good reports. I belonged to God. I serve only God. I believe in God. I can't fail I stand on the word. Hallelujah!
