Title I'm Dead

Contents

(Romans 6:1) What then shall we say? Shall we abid in sin so that grace may increase?

(Romans 6:2) No way. How shall we, who are dead to sin, live any longer in them?

(Romans 6:3) Do you not know that all of us who were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death?

(Romans 6:4) Therefore we were buried with him through baptism into death, so that just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, so we too may walk in newness of life.

(Romans 6:5) If we have been united in his death, we will also be united in his resurrection.

(Romans 6:6) For we know that our old self was crucified with Jesus so that the body of sin might be put to nothing, and that we would no longer be slaves to sin.

(Romans 6:7) For the dead have been set free from sin and justified.

(Romans 6:8) If we died with Christ, we believe that we will also live with him.

(Romans 6:9) Knowing that Christ, having been raised from the dead, will die no more, and that death will no longer have dominion over him.

(Romans 6:10) For his death was death to sins once for all, but his life he lived to God.

(Romans 6:11) In the same way, consider yourselves dead to sins and alive to God in Christ Jesus.

(Romans 6:12) Therefore, do not let sin reign in your mortal body, so that you obey its lusts.

(Rom 6:13) Also, do not present your members to sin as instruments of unrighteousness, but present yourselves to God as those raised from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness to God.

(Romans 6:14) Sin will not have dominion over you, for you are not under law, but under grace.

This week is a hard week. This Friday is the day Jesus died on the cross for our sins. He died on the cross on Friday and rose from the dead on Sunday morning. Everyone knows that the reason Jesus died on the cross was for our sins. However, in today's text, we who believe and confess that the Lord died on the cross are not actually being crucified and dying. After 10 or 20 years of believing in Jesus, we must change. We must live like Jesus.

Think like Jesus, speak like Jesus, and act like Jesus. The longer we believe in Jesus, the more we must become holy like Jesus. But why do we not change like Jesus and still these things in us torment us? What makes us like this?

1. Because we are not yet dead to sin.

Romans 6:1 What then shall we say? Shall we abid in sin to increase grace?

Romans 6:2 No way. How shall we, who are dead to sin, live any longer in it?

Romans 6:3 Do you not know that all of us who were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death?

Jesus died on the cross for our sins. The cross is the mold of the penalty for my sins. When I died, the innocent Jesus died in that place.

However, we only nailed Jesus to the cross and killed us, but we are not actually dying.

This is the problem.

It is said that where sin abounds, grace abounds. Can you sin though? I can't.

Regarding sin, when Jesus died on the cross, we were joined to Him so that our sins also died together. Our evil thoughts, deeds, evil dispositions, bloody prayers, and all unholy sinful natures died like Jesus. should have died

But why are we still alive, my voice, I brag and arrogant? do you shout out loud? It is proof that we are not yet dead. However, the apostle Paul speaks more harshly in the text.

2. Because he was not buried with him.

Romans 6:4 Therefore we were buried with him through baptism into death, so that just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, so we too may walk in newness of life.

Baptism is the washing away of sins. It means to drown sin in water. It is said that he was buried with Jesus by being baptized into Jesus. When Jesus died on the cross, he was also buried.

Like Jesus, we should have buried the body of sin, the body of sin, in a tomb. It is said that by being baptized into the death of Jesus, a funeral was held with him. I am not dying. My sinful body is already dead and is not on this earth. Why? Because I already had a funeral.

Specific details about it follow.

Romans 6:6 And we know that our old self was crucified with Jesus so that the body of sin might be put to nothing, and that we would no longer be enslaved to sin.

The old man was crucified with Jesus. The body of sin was destroyed. That we will no longer be slaves to sin. To die is to die at once. It's not about dragging.

Romans 6:10 For his death was death to sins once for all, but his life he lived to God.

Romans 6:11 In the same way, consider yourselves dead to sins and alive to God in Christ Jesus.

Therefore, the old man, the body of sin, had to be dead. It was already buried and had to rot. Therefore, we should not rule by sin.

3. Because the body's lust is not yet dead.

Romans 6:12 Therefore do not let sin reign in your mortal body, obeying its lusts,

Ro 6:13 Also, do not present your members as instruments of unrighteousness to sin, but present yourselves to God as those raised from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness to God.

When the body dies, the nature within us must also die. Our thoughts die, our hearts die, our actions die, our words die, and everything dies. To die is to leave the soul. To die means to stop breathing. The dead do not speak. But after only Jesus was crucified on the cross, why are we still not dead and not transformed into the old self?

John 3:5 Jesus answered, ?ruly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God.

Romans 12:1 Therefore, brethren, I beseech you by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship.

Romans 12:2 Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may discern what is the will of God, which is good and acceptable and perfect.

To be born again is to be born again. When the body dies, our greed and personal greed should have already died. Our bodies cannot be used as weapons of injustice.

We who have not yet died on the cross must die in the Lord's Holy Week. Your temper will die, your carnal thoughts will die, your blood will die, your dirty talk will die, and everyone must die. Only then can you be reborn as a new person again.

Romans 8:12 Therefore, brethren, we are debtors, not to the flesh to live according to the flesh.

Romans 8:13 For if you live according to the flesh you will surely die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live.

Gal 5:19 The works of the flesh are evident: fornication, uncleanness, sensuality,

Gal 5:20 idolatry, witchcraft, enmity, strife, envy, anger, strife, division, heresy,

Galatians 5:21 Envy, drunkenness, licentiousness, and the like. As I warned you before, I warn you that those who do these things will not inherit the kingdom of God.

Col 3:5 Therefore put to death your members that are on the earth: fornication, uncleanness, lust, evil lust and covetousness, which is idolatry.

Col 3:6 For these are the wrath of God.

You must die to sin to be alive again. We who were baptized into Christ must know that we were baptized into his death. When Jesus was buried, you were also buried. When Jesus was resurrected, we too were resurrected to a new life.

Romans 6:5 If we have been united in his death, we will also be united in his resurrection.

Romans 6:7 For the dead have been set free from sin and justified.

Romans 6:8 For if we have died with Christ, we believe that we will also live with him.

Hate still remains. Blood still remains. The bad temper still remains. The root of evil bitterness is fortified. So it hurts the hearts of the neighbors.

It hurts those closest to you. Why? And yet, we forgive ourselves generously. I am still in the process of becoming more like Jesus. Who is perfect like Jesus? We are generous with ourselves. It is stingy to the other side. excuse me. Why do we still have this evil character? My thoughts and self should have been pierced by the crown of thorns that Jesus wore.

I had to keep my hands off my hands. I had to break out of the path the Lord had chosen, not the path the Lord had walked. Jesus said, I am the way. My body, which was filled with my thoughts and made my neighbor sick, should have been stabbed with a sharp spear. I had to die.

2 Peter 1:4 By this he has given us his precious and exceedingly great promise, that through this promise you may become partakers of the divine nature, avoiding the corruption that is in the world through lust.

We should be partakers of the divine nature, so why are we this way?

If only Jesus died and I have not yet died, now it is my turn to die.

We must die to sin. It is your turn to know when your body's lust is dead. You must not rule over a body that will die in your sins. Sin should not be king. Jesus must be the king, and righteousness must be the king.

Your members (body) must not be used as weapons of unrighteousness. It must not be a weapon of injustice. It should not be used as a weapon to stumble others and to kill Jesus again as a weapon of injustice. Why?

Romans 6:14 Sin will not have dominion over you, for you are not under law, but under grace.

Because you are not under the law, you are under grace. If you are under the law, there is no remedy. Because those who break the law are punished by death.

Dear saints, In this difficult week, our old self must die. Because we became new people after the resurrected Jesus.

2 Corinthians 5:17 Wherefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has passed away; behold, the new has come.

Hebrews 9:14 How much more can the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered Himself without blemish to God, cleanse your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?

Through this Holy Week, do you still have the old person who has not yet died, the old person who has not yet died, and the lust of the body that has not yet been buried? die on the cross. be buried in the grave.

Bury all your unholy temper, harsh words, unbeautiful thoughts, old people, and stinky deeds. Resurrection together at the resurrection of Jesus. That's union.

Resurrect as a new man from a slave of sin to a slave of righteousness, and a slave of death to obedience. That is the appearance of those under grace. When you have these blessings, please believe that the end is eternal life.(*)
