Title I'm not even thankful
When there is a certain level of satisfaction through a work in terms of content, they express their gratitude. However, we should give special thanks, not ordinary thanks, and the object is God. In verse 17, the righteousness of God is only in the gospel, and we should give glory and thanks to God who made us to believe in Jesus and be saved.
1. Reasons for not being grateful, prize 21~
“Knowing God” Regardless of the ages and ages, human beings will be called those who believe in God and express their will to God. This person may not be able to give God the thanks He wants for Him by natural revelation alone. In man's intellect there is the knowledge to know God. We have to search for the true God with this knowledge (Acts 17:27), that is, we touch and seek with our hands (Deuteronomy 28:29), and when we diligently pursue it, we will meet the “1 John 1:1” one God and give thanks.
2. Among 21 ways to give thanks
The behavior of those who do not “glorify . . . and do not give thanks” does not treat God as the only God, and because the members of the church do not know it rightly, glory or thanks may be formal. When we treat God with glory and thanks, we are welcomed, and we receive grace and blessings. “Glory” is to think and act only with God, and “Gratitude” is always proclaimed in the sense of looking at what God has given. Because we know and serve “Jehovah”, who is the true God, we do not dishonor it. When we glorify and give thanks, we become a life of grace.
3. Result of not being grateful for 21H~23
(1) Becoming a failure 21b~ “On the contrary, their thoughts became futile and their foolish hearts darkened.” This is the inevitable result that follows when the concept of monotheism is wrong. Where there is no true existence, there is vanity; where there is no true wisdom, there is regret; and where there is no true light, there is darkness. Therefore, because there is no glory and thanksgiving, they become failures, and sinful human beings are cut off from God's grace (Genesis 3:24). It is all because you have left the true God. God is the light (1 John 1:5) and the source of wisdom (Psalm 111:10, Proverbs 9:10). As they become foolish and hardened toward God, they become more and more ignorant, so they cannot find God right away. Therefore, we cannot glorify and give thanks.
(2) Becoming a fool 22~ “He claimed to be wise, but he became foolish” The “wisdom” at the beginning is not the wisdom that comes from believing in God and the Bible, but the wisdom of man for his own sake. That is, it is foolishness toward God because it is the wisdom of a person who has no understanding of spiritual truth (1 Corinthians 3:19-20). Therefore, even if you have material things, you are “without giving thanks” and it is contrary to the wisdom of God (James 3:14-18). It is said that “become foolish” in the sense of becoming foolish. These are “Matt. 13:13, Seeing, but not seeing, hearing, but not hearing, not understanding.” How can they give thanks? The Bible warns us not to associate with fools (Proverbs 13:20) and to depart from them (Proverbs 14:7).
(3) Committing overwork 23~ “The glory of God as idols in the image of corruptible man, and of gold and dung…” Not only were God’s attributes reflected in creation, but that creation brought glory to God. It must be lifted up and deserved to be praised and glorified by men and angels. Because the unthankful had departed from God and lost their spiritual wisdom, they created an image of an idol that will exist forever and will disappear instead of the only God and put it in the place of God. If you put your own stubbornness ahead of obedience to God's word, it becomes an idol, so King Saul did not repent of his stubbornness and eventually became a failure (1 Samuel 15:22-23).
[Conclusion] We must obtain spiritual wisdom by serving God, so that we can know God rightly and give Him the glory and thanks He desires. If we, God's creatures, do not give thanks, we become failures, act foolishly, and make the mistake of putting ourselves in the place of God. God does not welcome him.
