Title I Give to Jesus
Contents
Text: John 6:1-15
Jesus loved children very much and recognized them as one person and one soul. Let's look at Jesus' words to children. “He welcomed and blessed children” (Matthew 19:13-14), “You must be like a child to enter the kingdom of heaven” (Matthew 18:3), “If you receive a child in my name, you are receiving me.” cherished” (Matthew 18:5). In particular, Jesus valued children more than the wise, those who have, and those who are high (Matthew 11:25).
In today's text, there were 5,000 people besides women and children who came to hear Jesus' words from across the Sea of Galilee (Matthew 14:21). It has been a long time since I started listening to the Word, and people have become hungry. Jesus asks his disciples what they should do. The disciples said, “To feed all these people, you need to buy 500 denarii worth of bread. I have no money, but even if I have money, I have nowhere to live!”
Then Andrew said to Jesus. “Jesus, here a little boy brought five barley loaves and two fish,” and gave it to Jesus. Perhaps there were adults there who had brought their lunches, but no one gave them out.
Jesus prayed a blessing and distributed it to the crowd. Surprisingly, even after tens of thousands of women and children ate, there was a miracle that there were 12 baskets left. Hallelujah! One child did a great job feeding tens of thousands. We must become believers who can give to Jesus like this little child.
Just like Proverbs 22:6 says, “Teach a child the way he should go, and when he is old, he will not depart from it.” Let our children break away from knowledge-oriented education and be blessed as human beings through character education and as children of God through religious education. You have to make it live.
Let's not forget that both Rockefeller, who was the richest man in the world, and Bill Gates, the richest man in the world today, are believers who value worship and tithing as their lives.
During the visit, a child in our family was told that he wanted to become a doctor and pay a lot of tithes to God. Listening to this child gave me joy and hope.
Among those who have been blessed by the Methodist Church are the brothers of former Bishop President Kim Hong-do. We know that God helped build a world-class church through him and his brothers, even though it was difficult to even get a meal and paid tithing through tears.
“To reap, we must sow” “To receive great blessings, we must give our precious things”
draw conclusions.
Dear Shepherd Church members, if you want your children to do well,
① Raise your children in faith.
② I hope that you will grow with the word
“The word of God is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path” (Psalm 119:105). Also, like the words, “With what can a young man cleanse his conduct? Be careful according to the word of the Lord (Psalm 119:9), I hope that you will raise them as blessed children of God who listen, read, meditate, and obey the Bible.
③ Raise them as givers.
I hope that you will raise them as people who make peace by taking the talents God has entrusted to them and leaving them abundantly, people who save and build their neighbors, and people who share the happiness that comes from heaven.
I hope that prayers for your children will be even hotter in May as a family month.
I pray that the Lord grants victory to the steps of the saints who pray and run. Hallelujah Amen.
