◎ Introduction
: Using the power struggle of the disciples to teach the most necessary lessons for this world directly to everyone
powerfully convey
※ Humans want recognition, honor, status, respect, power, and ability.
1. Disputes among disciples about status and power (24)
2. The world's attitude to greatness (25)
3. The Lord's Attitude to Greatness (26-27)
4. Encouragement to serve faithfully (28-30)
1. Disputes among disciples about status and power (24)
※ The disciples quarreled.
One). “arguing” means the state of being fervently arguing or being prepared to argue.
※ It also means that he is ready to Saul to gain his position.
※ This has the meaning of doing anything without giving any evidence, being stubborn, and doing it without considering the situation.
2). The disciples are still thinking about the kingdom of the world.
※ They thought that Jesus would soon oppose Rome and establish the Messianic kingdom there.
※ I thought that the Messiah would come out of Israel and rule and rule the whole world on behalf of God.
(Luke 7:21-23, Matthew 1:1, 18, 3:11, 11:1-6, 12:16, 22:42)
3. The disciples sat in the attic and tried to gain positions cunningly.
※ Now that Jesus is about to establish his kingdom, it is time to establish the place of dominion and power in that kingdom. The disciples were struggling to secure key positions in the Lord's reign.
2. The world's attitude to greatness (25)
※ The world's attitude toward greatness had two important concepts.
One). It's about being in control of people.
※ People seek status and wealth for power.
※ They want to rule people, exercise power, and control people's lives.
2). A person who helps others, known and called a benefactor.
※ “Received the call” He wants to be known as a great person (generous, attentive, and a good person).
(Matthew 23:12, John 5:44, Psalm 10:3, Proverbs 25:14, Isaiah 47:10, Op. 4)
3. The Lord's Attitude to Greatness (26-27)
※ True greatness is not being self-centered, selfish, or having a worldly mind.
※ He is giving instructions to “the greatest among you” (26).
One). To act like the youngest (26)
※ The most important thing is to take the lowest position. He says he is a humble man.
(Luke 14:10, Romans 12:3, James 4:10, 1 Peter 5:5-6)
2). To serve as servants (26)
※ A truly great person is a person who sets a prize at a banquet. He will serve others as he serves guests at a feast.
※ He is the servant of the house.
(Mt 25:34~40, 10:42, Phil 2:3~4)
3). It is to follow the example of the Lord.(27)
※ He should serve people like the Lord, be humble like the Lord, and serve and take care of others.
※ He has a higher status like the Lord, but he should not act as if he were a servant.
(Mark 10:45, John 13:5, Ephesians 6:7, Philippians 2:5-7)
4. Encouragement to serve faithfully (28-30)
※ A great promise was given to the faithful disciples who continued to walk with Jesus and did not leave Him.
That promise was a covenant.
※ “Entrust” The promise has been established and will not change forever.
One). The promise is that faithful disciples become the people of the Lord's kingdom (see Matthew 19:23-24).
※ It describes the wedding feast of the Lamb (Luke 22:15~18, Matthew 20:2)
2). The promise is that the faithful disciples will rule. (30)
