Title: I Pray
1. For the abundance of love (verse 9)
The cold of love is a sign of the last days (Matthew 24:12)
9. At that time they will hand you over to tribulation and will kill you, and you will be hated by all nations because of my name.
10. At that time many will stumble, and will hold each other and hate one another.
11. Many false prophets will arise and deceive many.
12. The love of many will grow cold because iniquity will increase.
Its sign is hate, delusion (temptation), and the cooling of love.
The apostle is talking about the life of the saints should always live a life that prepares for the end.
And for that, we pray especially for the saints of the Philippian church.
The original text translates this verse as follows:
“May love abound in knowledge and understanding...”
We are praying that the love between the members will deepen and increase through knowing God's love.
Therefore, I pray that the saints will live with the image of a Christian life.
To that end, the apostle says:
Romans 12:1~3
1. Therefore, brethren, I beseech you by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship.
2. Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may discern what is the good, acceptable, and perfect will of God.
3. By the grace given to me, I say to each of you, do not think more than you ought to think, but think wisely according to the measure of faith God has given you.
2. Be pure and not sin (verse 10)
The apostle prays that the saints of the Philippian church will grow in pure faith. For that purpose, believers must be able to discern the will of God. It can test and discern all things through the addition of abundant love to the knowledge of God and the wisdom to discern God's will.
Therefore, the apostle prays that the Philippian church members will come to know the will of God revealed through Jesus Christ in order to fully accomplish these things
In order to be true and blameless before God in the last days.
Sincere (eilicrineis) - A state of being unblemished, pure, and chaste, tested and exposed brightly.
Without fault (Afroskopoi) - without stumbling or stumbling.. (referring to the state of being free from hesitation)
The life of a believer, not only in the present, but also in the last days, when standing before God, must stand before Him in a flawless and flawless form.
for teeth
The saints must discern and do the good, pleasing, and perfect will of God.
Ephesians 5:1,9-10
1. Therefore, as beloved children, become imitators of God,
9. The fruit of the light is in all goodness and righteousness and truth.
10. Try what pleases the Lord
The life of a believer should be a life that obeys God's will.
1 Thessalonians 5:12-21
12. We beseech you, brethren, that you know those who labor among you and rule over you and admonish you in the Lord.
13. Be cherished in love because of their work, and be at peace among yourselves.
14. And I exhort you, brethren, admonish the lazy, encourage the weak, support the weak, be patient with all.
15. Beware that no one repays evil for evil to anyone, and always do what is good, whether toward one another or for everyone.
16. Always rejoice
17. Pray without ceasing
18. Give thanks in everything, for this is the will of God for you in Christ Jesus.
19. Do not quench the Holy Spirit
20. Do not despise prophecy
21. In all circumstances, take the good,
22. Forsake any form of evil
3. To bear fruit (verse 11)
The fruit refers to the fruit through the imputed righteousness of Jesus Christ, which refers to the fruit produced in the lives of the saints through a right relationship with God.
Galatians 5:22
22. But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,
23. Gentleness and self-control; against such things there is no law.
And, as we see in verse 24, it crucified the lusts and lusts that were full of people on the cross of Christ, and Christ accomplished the righteousness of God, forgave all their sins as well as those who believed in him, and blessed them from curses and death. It is the fruit that can be revealed to those who have become children of God through faith in the Savior who came to give us and life.
Therefore, the fruit that the apostle prays for is not obtained through the saints' own labor and efforts, but only through Jesus Christ.
In order to bear the fruit of , believers must entrust their lives to Christ.
Through this entrustment, we can bear the fruit that God desires, and the glory and peace of God revealed through it.
We pray for the glory of God by looking at God, acknowledging God, and obeying God through that recognition. This is manifested through the growth of faith, the abundance of love, and faith and perseverance in the midst of tribulation in the life of the saints.
This is the ultimate purpose of the saint's life.
1 Corinthians 10:21
31. So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.
2 Thessalonians 1:12
11. For this reason we also always pray for you because our God has called you worthy of his calling.
to fulfill all good pleasures and works of faith with power,
12. May the name of our Lord Jesus be glorified among you, according to the grace of our God and the Lord Jesus Christ.
and that ye may also be glorified in him.
I hope that the life of the saints will be rich in love. Also, when we stand before God, we want to be flawless and to be a person of perfect faith. Therefore, we want to become saints who can display the glory of God not only on this earth but also in the next life.
