Galatians 2:20 Understanding the subject

We refer to Jesus as Lord. That is, Jesus is our Sovereign Lord, and we are His servants. It's the right topic. But what about reality? Is Jesus really the master of my life? Rather, are you not actually using Jesus as a servant while saying Jesus is Lord and Lord? In other words, it is possible to grasp the subject right away with words, but in real life, it is not possible to grasp the subject properly. No, it's just that you're taking the subject backwards.

Therefore the Lord said: “Not everyone who says to me, Lord, Lord, will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only those who do the will of my Father who is in heaven.” (Matthew 7:21) You can. However, the original meaning of these words is that we enter the kingdom of heaven by faith. Because it is said that we must do God's will to enter the kingdom of heaven, but God's will is to have us go to heaven through faith in Jesus, the only begotten Son. In any case, you should have a good understanding of the topic. If you don't, you become heresy.

Everyone, when I ask you to name one of the differences between English and Korean, English has a clear subject and an object. However, there are many cases in which Korean is interpreted even if the subject or object is not in the sentence. Let's take an example. It is a slang term used by Korean teenagers. "Ah- it's a shame!" There is no subject in this sentence. 'A' is not the subject, and 'Page' is not the subject. If 'page' is the subject, it means that the person 'page' is sold. side is sold side is sold what is this? Has anyone been trafficked? How much did the page sell for? No matter how you think about it, the side is not the subject.

Who the hell is offended in this case? In Korean, there are cases where the speaker is offended through the context of the story, and when the speaker refers to or compares someone, the other party or a third party is offended. Because the subject and the object are not clear. Therefore, there is a possibility of misunderstanding. But let's translate "Ah- that sucks!" into English. "It's shame on you!" It means "You are a shame." But saying "It's shame on me!" means I'm ashamed. The subject or object is clear.

Since this is English-speaking Canada, let me give you one more example. In Korean, it is expressed like this: "I love you!" Translated literally into English, this is: "Love!" What is this? Because the subject or object is omitted, there is no sentence in English. In this case, in order to become a sentence, the subject or object must be inserted. "Juliet! I love you." "Romeo! I love you." Isn't it a little creepy?

Anyway, English is a straightforward and topical language. It is also a realistic and practical language. On the other hand, Korean is poetic and romantic. It is indirect and metaphorical. Both languages have their pros and cons. Anyway, I hope that while learning English, we will also learn how to recognize the subject or object. Especially these days, there are many people who read and study the English Bible. In that case, it will be very helpful in understanding the topic.

Gentlemen, if you do not understand the topic, such a person is called a proud person in the Bible. Or even a poor person. Think about it. Who is the 'self' person? It is a creature of God. It is God who made us humans. But he says he is a descendant of monkeys. Someone who doesn't understand the topic. He's such a pitiful person. On the other hand, he thinks that he is a great person and eats things together. He is a proud person.

Ladies and gentlemen, if you do not understand the topic properly, it is easy to fall into the position of pride that God hates and hates the most. In order for us to become true believers, it is important to realize that God is the Lord of the universe and all things, and who is in charge of human life and death and reconciliation. And it is important to see myself in God who is the Creator. If you do not understand these topics, you do not have the foundation of your faith.

When Jesus entered Jerusalem, he rode on a colt. People cheered Jesus enthusiastically. As Jesus was on his way, there was an uproar with his clothes spread like a red carpet. But what is this? The donkey on which Jesus was riding said, "Hey hey! Look at me while walking. No- Why is this donkey all of a sudden? Didn't understand the topic. People misunderstood that they were welcoming Jesus, but they were welcoming a donkey, and they felt so happy. It's rude.

There are people who believe in God and speak this way. "God, if you really do that, I won't go to church. If you don't pay tithing, then, God, you will lose a lot. So, when you say good things, please grant my wishes quickly and obey my words. It's not fun."

Ladies and gentlemen, in this case, it is because the subject cannot be grasped. Who the hell loses if you don't go to church? Who loses if you don't tithe? If your mom made a table for you and you don't eat because you are grumpy, who will lose? Who the hell gave the grace, and who received the grace? If you don't understand the topic, you will become a really stubborn person, a person who has no case.

So is the love between parents and children. No matter how much filial piety a child repays to his or her parents, it cannot repay the love and devotion of a parent to their child. It's because they don't understand the topic of acting as if they're doing a filial piety bigger than their parents' love for nothing, saying that they bought a small gift for their parents or that they had provided an apartment for them. ha

So is God's love. No matter how much I do for God, and no matter how much money I donate, it is like new feet of blood compared to the grace God has bestowed upon me. It's always insufficient. It is arrogance to say, "I did quite well..." without knowing such a thing. It doesn't look good. On the other hand, even if you do a big job, "The Lord gave me strength to serve. The Lord gave me money and I made a donation. I'm always sorry." This is the attitude of a good believer.

See also church. Who is the owner of the church? Jesus is the head of the church and the Lord of the church. But if you say the church belongs to someone, you are wrong. The topic was not understood. No matter how much I planted a church, even if I spent a lot of money to build a church building, the owner of that church should be Jesus, the right church, and it is not desirable to say that a person is the owner of the church. In other words, a church that does not understand the subject cannot be called a church.

And even when building a church, people should not build a church in a place that people want, according to people's ways. God, according to God's way, the church must be established where God wants it to be. When doing the Lord's work, if we do not understand the subject, we say we are doing the Lord's work, but we make a mistake in doing our own work.

The same is true when it comes to living your life of faith. When you come to Canada and choose a church, who guides you? Of course, after receiving evangelism and invitations from friends, they leave the church without thinking. However, it is good to have the conviction that it is God who moved the friend. In other words, it is good to go to church according to the will of God, who is the master, and to accomplish God's will there.

In today's text, the Apostle Paul says: "I have been crucified with Christ, and it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me." (Galatians 2:20)

Ladies and gentlemen, it took 10 years for our church to be planted here in Calgary, Canada, and to reach 153 Sunday attendance. And 153 people plus 153 people, that is, doubling is 306 people. Not long ago I prayed for this goal. But these days, I have changed my goal and am praying. We are praying with the goal of 1530, which is 10 times the number of 153 people. I'm on the subject of this goal. Even if I think, it's not in my own strength. I don't have the skills to do that. But it is through the power of the Lord.

If there is the Lord's will, it will not make much difference whether there are 306 or 1530. What do you think about this goal? Figure out the topic with me. Never in my power, in your power, or in our power. And don't stress yourself out about this goal. It's not what you do. It's not what I do. If God does it, it is done, and if God does not do it, it is not.

But we do know that God has said, "Open thy mouth wide, and I will fill it" (Psalm 81:10). In other words, it is God who fills me, so I only open my mouth wide according to the word of the Lord. Just as sparrow chicks open their mouths very wide when their mother sparrow brings food from the nest, so we are just plain wide. I sometimes laugh when I see sparrow chicks opening their mouths so wide. "Children, you don't have to open your mouth like that..."

Ladies and gentlemen, no one criticizes the sparrow chicks saying, "It's really greedy." Rather, I see it strangely, saying, "Hye- children are naive... they are cute. They are cute!" Maybe God sees us open our mouths like this and says, "Children, it's amazing... You believed what I said and opened your mouth wide! Oh, I need to fill it up a bit." You might think.
