Title If Man Belongs to Christ?
Contents
If I belong to Christ, then everything that is mine is Christ's. If I say that I belong to Christ, but keep my things separate, I too will be a deceiver of Christ, and on that day I will be judged by the second death.
The most precious thing that God has given to man is the body. This is because the body is the only life in a person's life where he lives by breathing through his nose and then dies when breathing ends. It is the same as the words of the evidence that is written, “For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world and loses his soul? What will a man give in exchange for his life?” (Matthew 16:26).
Such a precious body was neither born nor made by man. Everything in heaven and earth belongs to God, who created it. It is the same evidence as it is written, “We are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them” (Ephesians 2:10).
Therefore, it was written, “You are Christ’s, and Christ is God’s” (1 Corinthians 3:23), and again, “For the earth and its fulness are the Lord’s” (1 Corinthians 10:26).
Therefore, “Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God? You are not yours, but you were bought with a price. Therefore glorify God with your body” (1 Corinthians 6:19). -20) proves that
All the people of this world are like the ignorant prodigal son who takes God's things as their own and leaves God and lives his own life in a foreign country, that is, in another world, and, like his lustful wife Gomer, leaves the bosom of Hosea and lives a life of adultery again. It's the same with an adulterous woman.
But God, who is good and everlasting, is love, and so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, paying the price of his precious blood, to buy people back to be theirs forever. This is the everlasting gospel and the salvation of eternal life through Christ.
The eternal gospel belongs to everyone, but salvation through Christ, that is, to be God's, does not belong to everyone. Therefore, “I will punish those who do not know God and do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus, and these will be punished with everlasting destruction from the face of the Lord and the glory of his strength” (2 Thessalonians 1:8-9). He wrote, "And deliver us from the unreasonable and evil people, for faith is not everyone's" (2 Thessalonians 3:2).
Therefore, “Two-thirds will be cut off from all this land, says the LORD, and a third will remain there; I will throw a third into the fire, and I will refine it as silver, refined as silver, and tested as gold; they will call on my name, and I will hear; This is my people, and they will say, The LORD is my God” (Zechariah 13:8-9).
As it was said, “Two-thirds will be destroyed from all the earth, and a third will remain there.” Only one-third will belong to God forever. This is a meaning, not a number. He testified, “I will throw a third of it into the fire, and will refine it as silver, refine it as silver, and try it as gold. It's like what you said.
For this reason, the Lord Jesus, who became God's before all things, said, "I revealed your name to those you gave me out of the world. They were yours, but you gave them to me, and they kept your word. Now we I knew that all that you gave me came from you. I gave them the words you gave me, and they received these, and they know that I am from you, and believe that you sent me. For them I pray, not for the world, but for those whom you have given me. They are yours. All mine are yours, and yours are mine. I am glorified in them.” John 17:6-10). Amen, thank you Lord.
