Title If rights precede devotion/ Romans 1:14
If content rights precede devotion/ Romans 1:14
Key Verse: “I am indebted to both Greeks and barbarians, both the wise and the foolish; therefore, whenever possible, I want to preach the gospel also to you who are in Rome” (verse 14).
Word: Is there anyone who wants to live in debt? Probably not. However, in today's Word, there are people who want to live in debt. This debt is not just a debt, it is a sacred debt. That is the debt of the gospel. Paul introduces himself as a debtor. It is said that he owes not only to one man, but to all Greeks, barbarians, wise men, and fools. So what debt did the Greeks owe? And what debt did the savages owe? Barbarians mean savages. To the Greeks, it is understandable to say that Paul, who learned Greek studies, owed a debt, but what did he owe to the savages?
That's not all. It is said that he also owes a wise man. It is also said that he owes a debt to a fool without wisdom. The whole world is literally Paul's creditors. In other words, Paul is the debtor of the whole world. How scary is debt? There is probably no one to be comfortable with in debt. Whether you sleep or wake up, the debt will weigh you down and make it difficult. But what was Paul's life like, who he thought was indebted to the whole world? Could you have yelled at your creditors? Aren't you supposed to be a mouse before a cat? It was the attitude of evangelism that Paul had. That is why he was able to preach the gospel without yielding to any hardships.
But what if Paul had gone out into the world as a creditor rather than a debtor, before the right preceded the dedication? So is home. Imagine every member of your family asserts only their rights. Will your home be whole? So is the company. So is the country. This is the big problem in our society right now. Each of them claims a lot of rights, but it's hard to find dedication. What are all the numerous demos? ‘Finding Rights’.
But devotion is nowhere to be found. I don't know how many instances of neglect of duty and devotion. That's why there are so many taxpayers and so many criminals.
When rights outweigh devotion, the country is ruined, families are discord, and businesses are ruined. Commitment must take precedence. Just as Paul did, it became an important foundation for the evangelization of the whole world. How about you?
Prayer: Lord, like Paul, be armed with your love. So, let me live as a beautiful debtor in debt to the world. Help me to fully fulfill the role of light and salt in the world. I pray in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
