Title Ignorance/John 1:9-13
Content Among those who believe in Jesus, the most misunderstood is 'Why don't you believe this natural saying?' is a question
“There was the true light, the light that came into the world, shining to every man, who was in the world, and the world was made through him, and the world did not know him; he came to his own land, and his people did not receive him” (John 1:9-11). )
The light came, and the world did not know him; the Creator who made the world came, but the creatures did not recognize him. The king, the owner of the land, came, but the people did not welcome him.
So, we easily think of these three points above as the Bible condemning our sinfulness. How foolish is it that the light has come and you have not recognized it? If God came and crucified him, how could it be? Most people think that way. Why? Because I think I believed. I believed, but people in the world usually don't seem to believe it. I mean, I have a habit of making comparisons like this.
But the text does not mean that. The conclusion of the text is verse 13.
“These are those who were not born of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God” (John 1:13).
Reception is impossible with human strength. It is impossible to receive them, so if there is such a person, verse 13 tells the story of that person who has passed through a miracle that cannot be explained.
Christians today have no idea how simple a blessing and a miracle it is to become a Christian and believe in Jesus. Jesus has a strange habit of thinking that everyone believes. That is why, when evangelizing anyone to believe in Jesus, he tilts his head at how strange it is to not believe even though he offers legitimacy, explains and persuades.
The Bible refers to believing as a miracle. In this way, even when the light shines, they do not see the light, and they do not know that their Creator has come, nor do they know how to welcome the King when he comes, so there is no way for us to receive him.
But looking at the reality, aren't there many who welcome him? The Bible says that those who have become like this are “those who were born, not of blood, of the will of the flesh, or of the will of man, but of God.” This section contains the grace, blessings, and miracles offered by the Christian gospel.
What is the most shaky in our faith? Even though I believed in Jesus, there was no blessing. The Bible presents the most important foundation of our privileges, our love, our confidence, and our blessings, that I have come to believe in Jesus. Still, we say that we believed in Jesus, came to church, gave offerings, prayed, and stayed all night, but nothing came out.
These are requests made because we do not know how great a blessing and a miracle it is to believe in Jesus. Believing in Jesus is not something anyone can do. The sure proof is Matthew 20:28.
“For the Son of Man came not to be served, but to serve, and to give his life a ransom for many” (Matthew 20:28).
Jesus came knowing that we are spiritually blind and that we are children of the dead and perdition. He knows better who he is, what we may not know. That's how Jesus came. By His death we are healed. When believers believe in Jesus, it means that some miracle has already happened to him.
Since we have already become believers, it is difficult to understand how much people do not believe in God. The reason I don't understand this is because I don't know how I came to believe in Jesus. So what happens? You're going to go looking for useless evidence.
If you believe in Jesus, you will be healthy and blessed. However, this is the second and third order. The believer's self-affirmation must not go to anything else secondary or tertiary. There is only one thing, 'I believe in Jesus Christ'. Even this one thing is too great a fact. How did we come to believe?
Because 'they were not born of blood, of the will of the flesh, or of the will of man, but of the will of God'. This must be acknowledged. Israel is not just a symbol of believers. It is a symbol of sinful humanity. What did God say to the people of Israel?
“Hear, O heavens, give ear, O earth,” says the LORD, “I have brought up children, and they have rebelled against me. The ox knows its owner, the donkey its owner’s manger, but Israel does not know, my people do not understand. ” (Isa 1:2-3)
How is this different from the words found in John 1:9-11? So are the people of Israel. Because they are natural people. Human beings do not get better just because God works many miracles and intervenes. How could God even say something like this?
“Hear the word of the LORD, you rulers of Sodom; give ear to the law of our God, you people of Gomorrah” (Isaiah 1:10).
He refers to the people of Israel as the rulers of Sodom and the people of Gomorrah. What does God want to point out? Human beings have no ability to solve their own problems at all. “There is none righteous, not even one.” This is what the Bible claims. No one can save himself, and no one knows or cares about salvation, about truth, about life. But we believe in God. How did you come to believe?
It means that he did not come to be served, but to serve and to give himself as a ransom for many, and that there was a great miracle because of his death. So now we have become those who believe and accept Jesus. As mentioned in Isaiah 1, the Old Testament ends like this.
“I wish there was someone among you who would shut the door of the temple, so that ye might not burn my altar in vain, says the LORD of hosts; for I have no pleasure in you, nor will I accept the offerings of your hands” (Malachi 1:10).
God sent Moses to bring Israel out of Egypt. He crossed the Red Sea, gave Elijah victory on Mount Carmel, and rescued Daniel from the lions' den. Even after this, Israel did not repent. So he said he wanted to close the door because he didn't want to see your face. But these words were neither curses nor the voice of judgment. After that, he finally sent Jesus Christ. The necessity of the coming of Jesus Christ became evident throughout history as a sure proof.
“Jesus said, I am the way, the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father except through me” (John 14:6).
Our greatest tragedy is the fact that we are ignorant of the miracles that have taken place the blessings, promises, and privileges we have already obtained. We are not born of the will of blood, of the will of the flesh, or of man, but of the will of God.
“Then what shall we say about these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?” (Romans 8:31)
"Neither height nor depth nor any other creature will be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord" (Romans 8:39).
The fact that we are in a position that no one can break today is a confession of emotion and a scream full of confidence because we know that we have come to this place by the will of God, not by our feet, not by our own feet.
"Jesus said, "I came into this world for judgment, so that those who do not see may see, and those who see may become blind." When those of the Pharisees who were with Jesus heard these words, they said, "Are we also blind? There should not be, but if you say you see, your sins are only there” (John 9:39-41).
Jesus came to judge, but he said he would judge those who were not blind. This is what he says, is there any among you who is not blind? Therefore, because you are all blind, I need you. John 9 says that I have come so that you may see. That is what we see today in John 1:9 and below.
John 1:9-11 is not a rebuke at all. That's why you came. So it is the fact that what has been done has been accepted. That is, it does not originate with us. Therefore, we must know how great miracles, blessings, and grace we are. There is no greater blessing for the children of God.
No other blessing can surpass or compare with the first. Now we have to figure out why our lives don't win. There is only one way left to confirm for ourselves how frightening it is to believe in Jesus, how great a miracle it has passed, and a blessing and pride that we cannot compare.
There is no one to shake us, no one to hinder us, no similar thing to tempt us with anything else. should not be confused there should be no doubt While enjoying, winning, giving thanks, and praising, we must resolve and expect to taste the triumphs of our lives in God every day.
