Title Impossible Possible/Luke 1:26-38

The angel Gabriel announced to the virgin Mary that she would give birth to the Son of God by the Holy Spirit. These words are the most moving, surprising, and delightful events in the Bible. When Mary said that she did not know a man, the angel Gabriel said, “For no word is impossible with God” (verse 37).

I. 4 Impossible Things About Christmas

One of the four impossible things about Christmas is that a virgin has a son. Elizabeth was old (Luke 1:7). But although she was old, she was able to have a baby because she had a husband named Zacharias. Mary, on the other hand, was an unmarried virgin. How could a virgin have a son? This must be a miracle. The second event is the case of the Incarnation (成肉身, Incarnation). This event was not in religious history. In particular, the incarnation event was impossible for Jews and Greeks at the time when they had dualism, but God certainly came in a human body. The third impossible but possible thing is that the sinner is saved. Jesus took the punishment we deserve in order to save us. And finally, like Mary's confession, "I am the servant of the Lord, it may be done according to your word" (verse 38), the change in the hardened heart of man is the fourth miracle.

II. God can do everything

There is a Bible verse that says that it is harder for a rich man to enter the kingdom of heaven than for a camel to go through the eye of a needle. But with men this is impossible, but with God not so, God said all things are possible. (Mark 10:27) He also brought a child possessed by a demon and said, 'If you can do anything, have compassion on us and help us. Give it to me.' To the father of a child, Jesus said, 'If it is possible, what do you mean? Nothing is impossible for those who believe' (Mark 9:22-23). The words of the angel to Mary in Luke 1:37, “For no word of God is impossible” has two meanings. One of them is that God can do all that He has promised, and the other is that God's plan for your life is sure to come true.

. Obedience to God makes the impossible possible

“I am the maidservant of the Lord; let it be done according to your word” (verse 38).

If you thoroughly obey God's Word, God makes the impossible possible. We will have to accept what God wants us to do by faith. You must also be able to submit to the will of the Lord at the risk of self-sacrifice, contempt, disrespect, danger, and even death. This is the secret to the saints being happy and bearing fruit.

*Conclusions are given.

At Christmas, remembering the power of God who gave birth to a virgin, like Mary, confess that you are a servant of God, and become all the saints who obey His word. I wish you earnestly in the name of
