Title In the storm.../Mark 6:45-52
Contents
We see two kinds of people appearing in the storm in the text. It is the disciples and the Lord who came to them
is. The meeting made in the storm gives many lessons and comfort to us living in a world like a storm.
That's enough words. With the words of the text we read today, we want to receive grace under the title 'Amid the storm'
do.
In the storm...
1. We see the disciples of Jesus in the storm.
Those disciples...
① Those who obeyed the words of Jesus.
Verse 45, “Jesus immediately urged his disciples to get on a boat while he sent the crowd away, and to Bethsaea on the other side.
He told me to go to... And the disciples got into a boat and went to Bethsaida, just as Jesus urged them.
cross over. Jesus' disciples obeyed Jesus' words, not their own will, and went to Bethsaida by boat.
was on the way. In other words, they were the disciples who obeyed the words of Jesus.
② They were suffering people.
Verse 48 says, “When the wind resisted, and when he saw the disciples rowing in agony, about the fourth watch of the night, they walked on the sea.
He came to us and was about to pass by.” The disciples are suffering.
It was the wind against the ship the disciples were in. And the high winds of the sea caused by this wind
It was. It was the disciples who were tormented by these headwinds.
The word 'trouble' in verse 48 is 'basanizomenus', which means 'to test', 'torture', 'to wear out'.
is. In other words, the disciples were exhausted, as if they were being tested, tortured, or tortured by the headwind and waves that hit their boat.
It means tormented as if abandoned.
③ They are incompetent.
They were unable to resist in the face of the boat they were riding on and the headwinds and storms that were constantly hitting them.
We can see that we are just being beaten up. Until he met Jesus, he made his own business as a fisherman.
These are the disciples who lived there. They must have met many storms while living as fishermen. and take it
He must have had a lot of experience and knowledge. But their knowledge and experience is not at this moment.
It's a useless situation. They are incompetent people who cannot take any measures on their own.
④ Those who need someone's salvation.
Verse 51 says, “When he got into the boat and went to them, the wind stopped, and the disciples were very much astonished…”
is. When Jesus got into the boat the disciples were in, everything that had troubled them disappeared in an instant.
I came to experience the necessary history. The disciples were the ones who needed the Lord's help like this.
2. In the storm, we see the Lord.
That Lord...
① It is the Lord who commanded the disciples to go to Bethsaida.
Verse 45, “Jesus immediately urged his disciples to get on the boat while he sent the crowd away, and to Bethsaea on the other side.
Go to Bethsaida.” That is, the Lord commanded the disciples to go to Bethsaida.
② It is the Lord who prayed.
Verse 46 says, “After he said goodbye to the crowd, he went to the mountain to pray.” The Lord said goodbye to his disciples
Later, he went alone to the mountain to pray. The Lord often gets out of his busy schedule and goes to the mountains to
I used to pray.
③ He is the Lord of comfort and salvation.
After the prayer, the Lord saw the disciples suffering because of the wind. and the disciples suffer
You came to the scene. You walked over the sea. He passed through the storm and came to the distressed disciples.
And he called himself a ghost and said to his disciples, "Take it easy, it's me, don't be afraid!"
is. When the disciples saw this, they were amazed and could not keep their mouths shut, the Lord got into the boat and the disciple whom he loved
He made the wind that had tormented them stop. Seeing the scene of the disciples’ suffering like this, the Lord comforted them
and saved you. He was an indispensable person for the true disciples.
Dear saints,
The road you are walking on is not a wide, well-spread highway. The Lord makes our way narrow and strait
He said that it is like walking in a storm that many people do not find. we walk this way
there is. When we walk on this road according to the word of the Lord, we are overcome by irresistible adversity that we cannot do on our own.
You will encounter many moments. But the important thing is that in those moments we are never alone.
It's a thread. There is someone who sees our difficulties and hardships and comes to us. Leisurely walking through the storm
The Lord who came, comforted and saved the disciples, came to our difficulties at this very moment.
He comforts and saves us. And he speaks to us who are suffering in the storm.
"Relax! Don't be afraid, it's me!"
That's right. He told the saints to be at peace... Don't be afraid, to comfort them, and to be with them again.
that can happen. Everything doesn't work... Everything is ruined... It's impossible to do with my own strength
It is because the Lord is present that enables us to stand up again in the face of drastic events.
[2 Corinthians 6:9] As unknown, yet famous; as dying, and behold, we live and as disciplined ones.
I am not put to death [2 Corinthians 6:10] As sorrowful, yet always rejoicing; as poor, yet suffering much
One who makes people rich, as one who has nothing, but who has everything. Hallelujah!
