"Countries with relatively sparse populations but with advanced means of communication are more densely populated than countries with larger populations but without advanced means of communication. In this sense, for example, the states of the northern United States have There is a saying that the population density is higher compared to that.” Communication means are undoubtedly an important tool for estimating modern times.
103 Years of Wireless Communication, Comprehensive Media Era
In the advanced information society of the 21st century, these new information and communication systems will form networks like railroads and roads. Wireless communication is a communication that propagates electromagnetic waves using free space as a transmission path. In 1894, G. Marconi (1874-1937) invented the wireless telegraph. The development of wireless communication has brought not only the simple concept of communication, but also rapid changes to the underpinnings of society such as industry, knowledge, and culture.
One of the most globalized industries in Korea is mobile communication. Mobile phones have already been developed and disseminated at a world-class level, and the number of pager subscribers is well over 10 million, and there are over 4 million cellular phone subscribers. The newly serviced PCS phone has over 1 million reserved subscribers, ushering in an era of cutting-edge mobile information communication that is hard to find in the world. Also, in the case of pagers, the penetration rate per capita was the highest in the world, and it became the world's highest level.
The church must cope with constant spiritual training
With the development of mobility, a future phenomenon, there are many people who move much more than in the past, and modern people with a lot of mobility are inevitably requested for new means of delivery regardless of where they moved. In order to satisfy these needs, mobile communication has been developed in order to be able to make a call with a desired party whenever necessary without being restricted by time and place.
As with all civilizations, we must realize that information and communication devices are good things that God has given us, and we should have more intimate spiritual fellowship with God through these devices. Our spiritual space and time must not be invaded by pagers or cell phones. We must live a victorious Christian life in this busy world by using these devices well.
The church should be interested in information. And information devices should be used as much as possible. This is because informatization is a change of our times, and we need to know information to understand society. However, informatization itself is not a tool to save society. The only tool that saves society has always been spirituality. Therefore, the church's tool to cope with informatization is spirituality. Just as an athlete can win a game through constant training, believers who are engaged in spiritual warfare can also be victorious through constant spiritual training. Even if society changes and circumstances change, the traditional devotional training still seems to be in effect. In particular, it is most important to prepare a time of reverence in the early morning before starting work, especially during the time when you can quietly meet with God in the midst of being busy all day.
Godliness training is not about quantity, it is about quality. Even more piety training is needed to maintain the inner strength and resilience to withstand external pressure. In accordance with the above circumstances, some principles for managing spirituality in the mobile communication era are presented as follows. First, create an atmosphere. It's a basic story, but spirituality is an atmosphere. Always turn everything around you into a spiritual environment so that a spiritual atmosphere can naturally ooze out. Make sure you feel the spiritual atmosphere when you look at all the communication devices you use often.
Second, use spare time. You should always be prepared to use your spare time when you don't know what's going to happen. Write down scriptures or prayer topics on a simple notepad and carry it with you while reciting or praying. An able Christian leaves no traces of time, just as an able altarr leaves no traces.
Third, use voice mail. When using mobile communication, you come across many voice mailboxes. The mailbox is decorated with short scriptures or gospel hymns so that not only you but others who use it can access the gospel through self-introduction and music. Or you could record something cute every day in your greeting.
Fourth, make a time plan. Unplanned time is wasted on urgent matters, and we are ruled by a dictator who calls urgent matters. People with any kind of responsibility at work, at home, or at church are always surrounded by people and events clamoring for immediate attention.
Fifth, boldly turn off the power. There are many spiritual training methods, but among the traditionally important ones are the solitude and silence training methods. To do this, set a time and boldly turn off all mobile communication means as well as all devices that can contact you, and then stand quietly before God.
Make it a habit to turn off mobile communications in places of public gatherings, and especially in chapels, so that urgent matters do not interfere with the most important things. Through these efforts, we will be able to maintain Christian spirituality in the age of mobile communication.
