Title Inside and Outside the Temple
Contents
Although the gospel events recorded in the Bible occurred in the past, they deliver valuable lessons to us today. The breadth of the lessons contained in the text of the text is very large. Today, I would like to receive a new grace while paying attention to the change in the crippled beggar.
First, we need to look for our lives in the life of the crippled man, who would have been begging in front of the beautiful gate, by carefully examining his attitude and interest.
He always sat at the door of the temple and begged when the apostles and believers flocked to the temple to pray according to the custom. He had no intention of crossing the threshold and entering the temple at all. He was indifferent to what was happening in the church. In the church, they did not even try to learn about the life of a community where believers communicated with God and loved each other. He only intended to take advantage of the believers coming into the church. When we come to church, human 〈善空間〉 is bound to expand.
Even if he goes to church for decades, if he does not devote his time, passion, possessions, and wisdom fervently, but is consistent with his shallow devotion, he will be no different from this crippled man who sat on the threshold of the temple and begged. But he finally entered the temple and became a witness of the gospel. It has developed from a passive object of the gospel to an active subject of the gospel.
However, we must not forget that these changes and miracles occurred when the prayers and love of the apostles were united into one in the name of Jesus. It is difficult for the power of the name of Jesus to arise in a church without prayer and the practice of love.
Therefore, to those who ask in the name of Jesus Christ, and to those who practice love, the Lord is really good, who answers with better things and more fundamental things. Just as parents give not only toys to a child, but also time and love to a child who begs for a toy, so we realize that the Lord gives more precious things than foolish human supplications to those who pray in His name.
Dear classmates!
We must not stay on the threshold of the church. Don't just beg for perishable materials and money on that threshold. Nor should we take advantage of the Church for selfish purposes. Now we must change our position in the name of Jesus Christ. From the threshold of the temple, you must step into the temple. We must walk and run with thanks and praise in it. And we need to create a community of emotion and admiration. We do not have to wait 40 years, we must enter the temple from this hour today.*
