Title Intercession for Sodom/Genesis 18:22-23
It is no exaggeration to say that the history of mankind apart from God is a history of war. It starts with the fight between Cain and Abel and continues through human history, and in Genesis, you can see three great wars taking place. At this time, there is a story of Abraham hearing that Lot living in Sodom was destroyed along with Sodom and was taken into captivity, so he took 318 troops and went to war to retrieve his nephew and property to be taken away. But after the war, God appears in front of Abraham, who is trembling with anxiety because of retaliation, and says that he will become a shield. In order to fulfill his promise, God cuts a cow and a goat in half and walks through them, and he who breaks the promise will cut them in half as if they were splitting them.
1. God always judges our sins.
If you look up the English dictionary, you will find the word sodomite. This is a word that means sodomy and homosexuality, and it tells that Sodom was covered with these sins, and God hears the voices of those who cry from it and tells Abraham that God will judge him. Even what people do not know, God sees and knows everything. Although Sodom could have been influenced by Melchizedek, Abraham, and Lot, it was farther away from God. In the end, God decided this nation full of malice, a nation full of sin.
2. Continue intercessory prayer asking for God's will.
When God drew his sword to destroy Sodom and Gomorrah, Abraham remembered his nephew Lot and began to intercede. Intercessory prayer is praying for someone other than yourself. Abraham prays that there may be some righteous left in him, starting with 50 and up to 10, and he makes a humble and continuous prayer asking if he will destroy even the righteous. Just as Abraham interceded for the life of his nephew, we should know that the reason our country exists today is because someone is interceding for it.
3. I prayed for God.
*conclusion
My will and my thoughts are called ideologies. Today, there are many people who are caught up in ideology and want to achieve their will. But we must find prayer that seeks God's will. We must also remember that God's judgment must come. And you should remember Abraham's prayer, 'If there are only 10 people...' With the mission of intercessory prayer, I hope that we will continue to exist before God, receive grace, and become beautiful brothers and sisters.
