Sermons for Preaching

Title Isaac's Prayer (Genesis 25:19-26)

Contents The life of Abraham, the father of faith, is the life of a pioneer. So he went through many trials, but he also enjoyed many rewards and joys. However, Isaac's life was as smooth as a sailing sail in the wind.

There were several reasons.

1. It is the faith and devotion of the father Abraham.

God makes the sins of the parents extend to the third and fourth generations, but because He promised to show grace to thousands of those who love God and keep His commandments (Ex 20:6) Abraham received God's approval through faith and through devotion What pleases God came down as a blessing to his son Isaac.

2. There was Isaac's perfect devotion.

When Isaac was still young and was bound by his father on the altar of Mount Moriah and offered as a sacrifice, he obeyed without a word.

This is an event that allows us to see that the faith that was inherited through his father came to Isaac and became more mature and structured. When faith is conflicted, there is no peace.

He has always maintained a consistent level of faith, trusted in God, and has been blessed with great wealth, a beautiful and virtuous wife, and in everything he does.

However, Isaac, who was so rich, also lacked one thing. At the age of 40, he did not have a son for 20 years.

So Isaac prayed to God.

1. God gave Isaac the subject of prayer.

We know from the Bible that God blesses His children, but not completely. Because the vessel of life is not perfect. They only give you what you need. So, with what you lack, you come to God to pray and trust Him more.

If Isaac had also blessed his children quickly, he might have become proud. But because of childlessness, he humbly pleaded with God for 20 years. He lived a life of entrusting everything to God.

Let us thank God for giving us the subject of prayer. God is working in many ways so that we can pray because we believe that we can overcome the world only if we pray.

2. A son obtained through prayer is more precious.

Isaac had twin sons. The eldest son was masculine, the second son was feminine, the first son was valiant and the second wise. The first pleased his father, and the second he was loved by his mother. It was a spring day when the depressed family was in full bloom.

It is precious only if you prayed for it.

3. We must pray for our spiritual children.

Just as Isaac prayed to have children, we must pray to have spiritual children. Just as long prayers, 10 months of burden, and several days of labor are required to give birth to a child, we too must suffer in order to produce spiritual children. Receive and bear the burden of hard work. Then you will produce great spiritual children.
