1. Much of the Bible is written in parables and symbolism.
1 All proverbs and aphorisms have metaphor and symbolism, and their practical content gives people tension.
- Instruct, teach, and realize through such proverbs and aphorisms.
* When the bird follows the stork, the branch is torn.
* If you see one, you know the heat.
* Saying that you are not interested in middle ear salinity, only ashes
* In this way, the meaning of a proverb is not the actual linguistic meaning, but the meaning contained in it.
2) Today's text is also a prophetic word with such a character.
- Judgment according to Jack Mann and the judgment of God accordingly
2. Today's written word is based on the promise between God and Israel.
1) God chose Israel as his chosen people to testify of Himself through them.
- Israel was not chosen because they were special.
* God needed a nation to accomplish what He had planned.
* God can choose anyone for himself under his sovereignty.
* Israel was simply called accordingly.
* But it is an honor to be chosen by one God out of all nations.
* They only make themselves known to them as God's witnesses and make them their own witnesses.
(Isaiah 43:10) “You have been chosen to be my witnesses and my servants, says the LORD, so that you may know and believe in me and understand that I am him. No god was created before me, and none after me.”
- First they had to be the saviors of other peoples and of God's holy people.
* According to this, God gave them the law and made them do it.
* In other words, what sets them apart from other nations are those who have been entrusted with the word of God.
* As God's holy people, they ought to obey God's law.
- Covenant with God according to the law
(Ex 19:5-8) “The world is mine, and if you listen to me and keep my covenant, you will be mine among the nations, and you will become a kingdom of priests to me and a holy people. Then Moses came, summoned the elders of the people, and set before him all the words the LORD had commanded him. The people responded in unison, saying, "As the LORD has commanded, we will do." Moses reported to the LORD in the words of the people. hamae”
* God's blessings and curses according to this covenant
(Deuteronomy 11:26-28) “I set before you today a blessing and a curse; it will be a blessing if you will hear the commands of the Lord your God, which I am giving you today. If you turn away and do not obey the command of the LORD your God, and like other gods of which you have not known, you will be cursed.
- God has given them duty and jackham according to God's blessing.
* With every right comes a responsibility to enjoy it.
* When you fail to fulfill your responsibilities according to your rights, ask for the responsibility. : impeachment
2) Today's scripture prophesied judgment by taking responsibility for only disobedience to the Israelites.
- As a holy people, they should be God's witnesses, but on the contrary, they acted like Gentiles.
* Follow their customs and join hands with them to rebel against God and serve idols.
* Not only the lowly people, but also the leaders of the people.
* Ignoring God by relying on their own strength rather than relying on God.
(Proverbs 21:31) “The horsemen are prepared for the day of battle, but the victory is with the Lord.”
- Prophecy of their destruction and the suffering and sorrow of God's judgment.
* Israel is eventually defeated by Babylon, and they are taken captive and brought to suffering.
3. For us living in this age, we are teaching the duty of God's people.
1) God's demands against us are the true form of a holy people.
(1 Peter 1:14-16) “Do not, like the pure testimonies, take as an example your lusts that were good when you did not know them before, but as the Holy One who called you, be holy in all your conduct, as it is written, “Because I am holy, you must be holy. built it”
- God has also given us the word of the covenant.
(Matthew 6:31-33) “Therefore, do not be anxious, saying, What to eat, what to drink, or what to wear, for these are all the Gentiles seek, for your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. Seek his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.”
* All Christians also have a responsibility to work out the salvation God has given them.
* We must fulfill our responsibilities according to the purpose of God who saved us.
(1 Spit 2:9) “But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for his own possession, that you may proclaim the goodness of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light.”
* God judges and holds us accountable not only at the time of the Last Judgment, but also in the present.
* The present time is only a preparation period for the final judgment day of our God.
* The importance and lesson of history is to give us the wisdom of life in the present. : Tasanjiseok
(Rom 3:6-10) “Then the LORD said to me in the days of King Josiah, “Have you seen what rebellious Israel did? He went up on every high mountain, and went under every green tree, and committed whoredom there. After he had done all these things, I He said, “He will come back to me.” But he did not return to me, but his rebellious sister Judah saw it. Because Israel, who was rebellious against me, committed adultery, I drove her out and gave her a divorce paper, but her rebellious sister Judah was not afraid. I have seen her go and commit fornication. She took it lightly with stones and wood, and defiled her sweat by fornication. Despite all these things, her rebellious sister Judas did not return to me with all her heart, but only lies. word”
* Let's meditate on the last text. : the foolishness of relying on people
