Issachar's blessing (Gen 49:14-15)

< Text >

(Genesis 49:14) Issachar is a sturdy donkey that kneels between the folds of the sheep.

(Gen 49:15) He will see a resting place and consider it good; he will see the land and consider it beautiful; he will lay down his shoulders and burden himself, and serve under oppression.

<sermon sermon>

Today I am going to tell you about Issachar, the fifth son of Jacob.

In particular, I will focus on how Issachar was born, the blessing that his father Jacob gave him when he died, and how Moses, the leader of the nation, blessed Issachar.

Jacob had two wives.

His first wife was Leah and his second wife was Rachel.

Jacob loves his second wife Rachel more than his first wife.

Leah was thinking about how she could get her husband's love, and she thought, "Okay, let's have a son, and if I have a son, my husband will love him." So she gave birth to four sons.

However, when she gives birth to a child, she comforts her for a while saying that she did well, but she does not return to Rachel again.

Leah thinks that her husband will come back to her when she has more sons.

Reuben, Leah's first son, went out and found a mandible in the field and gave it to his mother.

Mandrake is such a plant that a barren woman eats it and gives birth to a son when she sleeps with her husband.

While Leah bore four sons, his second wife, Rachel, bore no sons.

Rachel asks Leah to give her the money.

Leah buys her husband overnight in exchange for giving Rachel mandrakes.

Leah gives him mandrakes, sleeps with her husband, and gives birth to a son.

The son's name was called Issachar, which means "I bought it with a price."

Issachar will grow quickly.

But Jacob gathered his 12 sons and gave blessings and curses to each of them.

Jacob came to Issachar and said, "You are a sturdy donkey that kneels among the folds of the sheep."

Sheep don't know how to work, they just eat, gain weight, and grow their hair.

However, the strong donkey in the sheepfold is a symbol of labor.

“You, Issachar, will work and work and serve the people of Israel.

And when you see the land, you find it beautiful, and when you see the resting place, you consider it good.”

Also, when Moses, the leader of the nation, dies, he blesses the 12 tribes, and he gives this blessing to Issachar.

“Rejoice, O Zebulun, that you go out; Rejoice, Issachar, that you are in your tent.”

The summary of Issachar is as follows.

Issachar is the son whom he bought with a price, and he serves in the tent like a sturdy donkey.

Again spiritually interpreted:

You are a Christian bought with the price of the blood of Jesus, the son you bought with a price.

However, although you have various gifts, you are a person who has received such talents to serve and serve diligently in the church.

Please believe in Issachar spiritually who serves diligently in the church, regardless of who sees it or not.

People who clean church toilets, people who clean stairs, people who put their hands in the sanitation water, people who manage parking lots, people who serve and serve in various places invisible, remember that these people are Issachar of this age, in the name of Jesus Please.

Today, through the story of Issachar, I will deliver the message in three ways.

The first meaning of Issachar is that it was bought with a price, bought with a price.

Leah gave Rachel mandrakes until she gave birth to Issachar. I gave him mandrakes and bought my husband.

In spiritual terms, it means our Christians who were bought with the price of the blood of Jesus.

Before we believed in Jesus, we were sinners. They lived independently of God.

But because Jesus loved us, came to this earth, shed His blood on the cross, and bought our souls with His blood, we became righteous. We are all beings who were bought with the blood of Jesus.

They are the spiritual tribes of Issachar.

Many people want success. Success comes only at the price of hard work and diligence.

Do you just make money?

Everything in this world comes without a price.

Our church's goal for this year is “a year of blessing”.

Blessed year, no matter how much you look at it, it cannot be mine unless you pay the price.

Then, at what cost we must pay, the Bible promises us many blessings.

In Deuteronomy 28, it says that if you listen to God's word and obey it, you will receive all these blessings after you pay the price of obedience.

Do you want to receive the four blessings God has spoken of - spiritual blessings, material blessings, health blessings, and children's blessings?

Then pay the price

Follow me “Obedience” There is a price to be paid for obedience.

Leah paid the price of mandrakes until she gave birth to Issachar.

Obedience is easy to say, but it is very difficult to completely obey God.

We choose roughly and obey according to ourselves. The Bible teaches us to obey God's Word 100%.

Sometimes we have to take up our own cross in order to obey God's word.

There is also the pain of slicing the bones, you have to take the time and give the material. Blessings will not come without paying this price.

Why do we give glory and honor to Jesus?

Why are you praising Jesus at this time?

Why do hundreds of millions of people around the world praise Jesus Christ?

Because he paid the price to be praised.

Jesus came to this earth and shed His blood for our sins.

Because Jesus died on the cross and shed His blood and in return for our salvation, we give thanks to Jesus for praise, glory and honor.

If Jesus had only thought as a head and had not paid the price of carrying the cross, we would not have praised Him.

It doesn't just happen, it's people who have paid the price.

Is an elder just an elder?

It is through early morning prayer, various trainings, refinements, and years of faith to rise to the ranks of elders.

Do you want to be blessed?

I bless you in the name of Jesus that you pay the price you deserve.

I want all of our members to obey God's word and be blessed.

Second, what we realize through the text is the fact that God has given each of us gifts that are appropriate for us.

When God calls us, He calls us for two reasons.

One has called us to believe in Jesus and be saved.

Some people think that they have been saved and that it is over. This guy only has 50 points.

And God wants to expand His kingdom on this earth through us.

So, after we were saved, He gave each of us appropriate gifts.

As we discover, use, and move forward with those gifts, the kingdom of God expands.

When we realize what gifts we have received after believing in Jesus and being saved, and then use them to faithfully serve and serve, that is a 100-point faith.

What gifts have I received?

Just as we have different faces and different personalities, He has given each of us different gifts.

It is very important to discover what that gift is.

Even though they are sons from the same boat, Zeblon and Issachar have different gifts.

Zeblon was given the gift of going out, going out to trade, and Issachar the inward being given the gift of serving and serving in the church.

What gifts have I received?

Many people want to do God's work, but they do not know what gifts I have been given.

Because I don't understand the gift I've been given.

At our church, we hold a gift placement seminar once or twice a year, and this time it will be held in March.

All those who do not understand the gift I have received, come and listen.

God has given each of you a gift that is right for you, listen to what it is, develop it, and be faithful. Then the kingdom of God will expand.

However, the gift received is “to be used in cooperation with one another.”

For example, the choir will have people who can sing well.

However, when there are people who can only sing, the atmosphere becomes cold.

Because the gifts are used cooperatively, even those who are good at prayer must enter.

That is why this choir does spiritual praise only by praying.

Also, someone with the gift of love must enter.

There are times when a choir of many people has different opinions and difficulties arise.

At that time, a person with the gift of love exhorts many people with love, changing the atmosphere.

Also, those who have been gifted to serve should stop by the choir.

People feel good while eating, and those who have the gift of service provide coffee, bread, etc. for other crew members, so people feel good.

I believe that the choir gathered by these people will become a hymn that is spiritual, rich in love, and united as a bond of reconciliation before God.

Since we are organisms, the gift is to work together for good.

Finally, there is the third reward.

God is saying that he will never forget that he gave the little one a glass of water.

You're looking at everything with your eyes, whether it's like fireworks

And I believe that God sees and repays us all that we serve and are faithful with the gifts God has given us.

If you do not repay me, I will give it to my descendants, or else I will receive it as a reward in the kingdom of heaven.

Let's look at Issachar in the text of Genesis.

He said that when he saw the land he thought it was beautiful, and when he saw the resting place he thought it good.

In other words, I worked while thinking about compensation.

We are God's people who have been called by God.

I believe that God will reward me when I do my best, even if it is sometimes difficult and difficult with the gifts given to me I bless you in the name of Jesus that you will look at and be faithful.

God is a God of retribution.

I will arrange your words.

Today I testified about the tribe of Issachar.

1. Issachar means “I bought it with a price”.

We, who bought with the blood of Jesus, please pay the price.

2. The gift given to Issachar was to serve in the church.

May we recognize the gifts we have been given and use them cooperatively.

Even though it is sometimes difficult, I do my best, and just as Issachar worked in anticipation of a reward, I pray in Jesus name that it will be a year in which you can enjoy God's blessings by dedicating yourself with joy while thinking about how God will reward you.
