Title It's Not a Hard Problem
Contents
title ; it's not a hard problem
main text ; Matthew 11:28-30
One day, Pastor Norman Vincent Pele was walking down the street in New York, and a man called him up and spoke with a worried expression on his face. "Pastor, I have a very, very serious problem."
Then Pastor Pile answered, "Yes? There are 15,000 people close by here, and not one of them is a problem."
Then the worried man asked. "Pastor, please teach me a place where there are no problems. I want to go and live in such a place." Then Pastor Pile answered. "It's the cemetery right over there."
Guys, everyone hates problems.
So, I think about emigrating here and there to live in a good neighborhood where there are no problems.
A few days ago, I read a Korean newspaper that a gangster named Jo Yang-eun was thinking of emigrating. Of course, now he is attending Hanse University, a Full Gospel Seminary, and has received the office of a deacon and is living a life of faith in his entire family.
The reason he, his wife and his daughter want to immigrate is simple.
Because he is the thug boss, he is always subject to eavesdropping and surveillance, and as a result, the privacy of his family is also invaded, and he is living under stress all the time.
So I'm looking for countries to immigrate to, and I read an article that said that Canada is the place I want to immigrate to.
After reading that article, I thought about it. “What if the deacon came to Calgary Full Gospel Central Church?”
I shared this thought with my wife, and my husband said, "Hey, don't you say that?" and express displeasure.
Probably because he lived as a gang leader for a long time, he thought that if the yangban came to our church, the atmosphere would become bloody, and then the members would be very reluctant to come to our church and many would leave.
But, on the other hand, I thought that if the assistant deacon came to our church, there would be some benefits to the church.
However, one thing that worries me when the family immigrates here is that this is also a difficult neighborhood.
I have lived here in Calgary, Canada for more than 5 years, and seeing that this is also a town where people live, it is a town with a lot of problems.
When you come here to immigrate or study abroad because you don't like the problems you face in Korea, you may be freed from those problems at first and think, "Hey, this is heaven! If other problems arise, "Hey- this is a town where people live!" and you will realize
In other words, there is no place in the world we live in without problems. And the only problem-free people in this world are the dead in the cemetery.
In other words, having a problem is proof that you and I are still breathing and alive.
Is there anyone among you who would like to live in a place where there are no problems? Is there anyone who wants to live a life free from problems for the rest of their lives? Then you will have to immigrate to the cemetery.
Many of you will say, "Hey, Pastor, what are you saying so sadly? I'd rather live here even if I have a problem, but I'm still young enough to immigrate to the cemetery."
Of course, I am still young enough to emigrate to the cemetery. And I don't think my family will immediately follow me if I immigrate there.
In other words, almost everyone has a wish to live on this land, which is not yet a cemetery, even if there are problems. But when the problem is so big and the stress comes from it, sometimes I feel like I want to go to heaven as soon as possible.
Our Lord Jesus Christ is the one who came to save our lives that are suffering and anguished because of these problems.
Therefore, in today's text, the Lord says: "Come to me, all you who labor and are heavy laden. I will give you rest."
The Bible doesn't tell us to emigrate to the US, Australia, or Canada when we have problems and the stresses that come with them.
Rather, it is only when we come to the Lord who solves all our problems that we can find true rest and peace.
Ladies and gentlemen, there is a very good thing about believing in Jesus, that no matter what problems you come across, if you tell them about them, you can strangely find peace. From a worldly and human point of view, when such a problem approaches, it is natural to have a deep face and a lot of stress, but when I tell the Lord about my problem, he says, "Don't worry, things will work out. You will be able to achieve it,” and your mind will be at peace.
In this regard, the Lord has foretold this: "Peace I leave with you, my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Do not let your hearts be troubled, and do not be afraid" (John 14:27).
Everyone, aren't you stressed out by the problem you're experiencing right now? Just thinking about that problem makes your heart suffocate, and doesn't it cast a shadow of depth on your face?
If that is the case, you too must come to the Lord and lay down your toil and heavy burdens and problems. The problem that you consider difficult for yourself is not that difficult for the Lord.
Isn't that what we call Jesus our Savior because He can solve our problems? Saying you believe in Jesus, calling Jesus your savior, but suffering and anguish over problems is not an attitude of believing in Jesus correctly.
The Lord has clearly told us. "Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, and your hearts will be at rest, for my yoke is easy and my burden is light."
Ladies and gentlemen, a yoke is something worn around the neck of an ox or horse. The country of Israel is a very barren land with very little fertile soil. Therefore, in the old days, when plowing a field, a yoke was put on an animal to plow the field. In particular, there is a case where two cows are placed side by side and yokeed. In this case, if one is strong, the other has to follow.
In other words, if we take on the yoke of Jesus, the yoke is easy and the burden is light because Jesus is strong.
Everyone, everyone in this world has a yoke. In other words, there are hard work, heavy burdens, and problems. Students have problems as students, wives as wives, husbands as husbands, and everyone in this world has problems.
However, the problem may be solved very easily, or it may be considered very difficult and you may fall into stress and anguish.
In other words, if you share the problem with Jesus, the problem will become easier because Jesus is strong. On the other hand, if you try to solve the problem yourself, you will not be able to solve it properly, but rather, it will become more twisted, and you will fall into greater trouble.
Therefore, the Bible exhorts us to do so.
“Cast all your anxieties on the Lord, for he counsels you” (1 Peter 5:7).
"Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus." (Philippians 4:4: 6-7)
"Cast your burden on the Lord, and he will sustain you; he will never allow the righteous to be moved" (Psalm 55:22).
“Blessed be the Lord, who carries our burdens daily, to God our salvation” (Psalm 68:19).
Ladies and gentlemen, even in this foreign land, we feel the burden of sin, the burden of material things, the burden of our families, the burden of disease, and the burden of death.
In addition to this, the children of our God are asked to bear another burden. It is to bear the yoke, or burden, of Jesus. However, this burden is not heavy, but rather necessary to solve our problems and put our souls at ease.
There was a story like this a long time ago.
Once upon a time, birds did not have wings. God gave wings to the weak birds because they were so pitiful, and the birds jumped up and down, complaining about why they were attaching these uncomfortable and heavy things to us in the first place.
However, when a bird accepted the burden it thought was troublesome, it became wings and soared into the sky.
Then all the other birds realized that it was not a heavy burden but a precious gift from God, and eventually they became birds of the sky.
Gentlemen, the yoke of Jesus is like the wings of our soul. If a bird cuts off its wings because they are bothersome, they cannot fly high or far. For birds, wings are large enough to be burdensome and burdensome.
However, just as the wings make a bird a means to fly lightly high in the sky, when we carry the burden of Jesus, our problems become lighter and easier to solve.
And we can fly higher and farther.
People, when you are living in this world and suffer pain and anguish due to various problems, learn to solve them easily.
Don't foolishly try to solve the problem alone.
If you try to solve the problem on your own, the burden becomes heavy and you eventually fall. And you are not great enough to completely solve the problem you are facing yourself.
You cannot save yourself, and you absolutely need God's help.
That is why today the Lord is admonishing us to come to us and solve our difficult and heavy problems with ease. It is none other than approaching the Lord and entrusting the matter to him.
Everyone, living in a foreign land is not easy, so why are you burdened with such a heavy burden on your own? And why do you suffer so much from that problem? Lay that burden down before the Lord today.
The Lord has the ability to easily solve my problems and yours. If you entrust the problem to him, the problem can be solved very easily.
The Lord spoke briefly to a patient who had been ill for 38 years and had been lying still and unable to walk. “Take up your mat and walk” (John 5:8).
Then he soon got well, picked up his bed and walked. And when he said, "Be still, be still," to the sea where the storm was blowing like crazy, the sea and the storm immediately became calm as if it had ever been (Matthew 54:39).
And on the fourth day after he died, he said to Lazarus, who smelled of mixture, "Come out, Lazarus" (John 11:43). He immediately came to life and came out of the tomb.
Ladies and gentlemen, healing a patient who has been bedridden for 38 years is a very difficult task for us humans. And calming the stormy sea like that is something we cannot do without our human strength. Moreover, raising the dead is something that human beings cannot even dare to imagine.
But Jesus made such difficult things so simply so easily. Therefore, leave the matter so difficult in your eyes to the Lord.
And look forward to it. That problem is solved so easily. In the eyes of the Lord, it is not a difficult matter.
