Title James 03:1-12 Language Ethics
Content Title: Language Ethics
Bible: James 3:1-12
“My brethren, do not become many teachers, knowing that we who are teachers receive the greater judgment” (verse 1).
Teachers teach students by speaking. A teacher is never a person who teaches knowledge. The teacher is the one who shows the love in the heart, who shapes our character, and who comes to us as a human being.
God will judge us according to what we do, and he will judge us according to what we say. Therefore, to be a teacher is to bring judgment upon yourself.
Just as there are ethics in life, there are ethics in speech. There is a thing called language tyranny. Even if you don't hit with your hands, you can hit your opponent with words to break their bones. One man's disorganized, unruly words can cause many people to suffer and cry.
Words are personality. If words are prosperous, but actions are not followed, they are only sounds, not words. By listening to what they say, you can know the person's personality and thoughts. So we must refrain from talking.
the language of the unregenerate
Today, many people have fallen nature and try to live like animals. Human beings are created in the image of God and are not animals. However, people who have not been born again keep trying to return to animals.
If a person does not control himself well, he is governed by instincts like animals, and he uses language at the level of an animal. If a person does not manage his tongue well, his character will burn down.
Just as a horse must be bridled in its mouth to obey, a man must control his tongue well to live properly.
The tongue of the unregenerate is against God. He commits the sin of unbelief by speaking contemptuous words of God. “Even God is indifferent, is God blind…” These words come out of the mouth of an unregenerate person. The unregenerate person blasphemes against what is holy and blasphemes against the Church and the priesthood. A born-again person does not mistreat what is holy, and does not ridicule or despise it. Also, swearing in vain that God cannot be seen is coming out of the mouth of an unregenerate person. Believers should not speak harshly, especially about the church.
The loft leader should be good at holding the stem of the conversation in the loft meeting. This is the very important mission of Darakbang.
1. Language Against God
The serpent resisted God by deceit. When the serpent entangled Adam with a lie, it was ultimately against God. To lie is to oppose God. The biggest disease in today's society is dishonesty. After all, to deceive people is to oppose God.
Lying is the act of the unregenerate.
2. Language Against Neighbors
The church is not a place to expose mistakes, but a place to cover them up. That's what Jesus did and that's how he saved us. Jesus saved us not because we were righteous, but by acknowledging us as if we were innocent. Nevertheless, many people in the church, when they find even the slightest flaw in others, not only talk about it rudely, but also say nothing, and eventually force that person to leave the church. To speak recklessly to others like this is to oppose God.
3. Language against itself
We must not speak against ourselves. This is self-deceiving. We must also refrain from saying words that curse ourselves. For what God forgives, you must forgive yourself. The words of one's despair, the words of one's pride, the words of one's pride, the words that destroy one's character are all words against God and come from the mouth of an unregenerate person.
“The tongue is a fire and a world of unrighteousness. The tongue defiles the whole body among our members and sets on fire the wheel of life, and its devouring comes from the fires of hell” (verse 6). The Apostle James said that the tongue of such a person is like fire.
A mistake in words burns everything in life at once. If you say one wrong word, you will fight against brothers, neighbors, nations, and all evil in the world will come from your tongue. In this way, the tongue of the unregenerate is always against God, harming neighbors, and cursing itself.
A leader who should exercise leadership as a servant of God and the head of Darakbang should be especially careful with his words and also with others.
Many people say that the church is a talkative place, but this is not true. The church is where God speaks. You should listen to God's word at church, not talk too much. We don't have to talk much before God and we don't have to argue.
There is nothing to tell you about this. You only need to listen to the Word of God and look at the will of God. This is the attitude of being a servant of God.
Dear brothers and sisters,
In the name of the Lord, I earnestly pray that you will become a faithful child of God who has a habit of language that is pleasing to God by keeping the ethics of language well before God.
